Real talk:
If this means I don't have to take another business trip to Vegas with an awkward colleague who wants to eat Captain Crunch in his hotel room watching Netflix instead of going out with me, I might actually be on board with purging tech of incels. I mean, my salary would double overnight.Last edited by ANumber1; 05-04-2018 at 09:00 AM.

He knew why people disliked him deep down, I am sure. Narcissism is a coping mechanism. I have it to a much lesser degree than him. I used to believe I was somehow better than other people. I used to tell myself that when I was bullied and abused. I would rationalize that people were jealous or trying to bring me down because I was better than them. I didn't want to accept my own inferiority. I couldn't cope with the fact that I had lost the game. That sort of narcissism is a way to cope with your failure by denying it exists. Sometimes, when I am very angry, I revert back to my old self, and start viewing other people as insects to be crushed. You stop valuing their lives entirely and see them as tools or obstacles because you realize you are truly alone. You need to understand that almost all his problems came from likely not being loved by his parents and not establishing proper friendships (which is probably key to having before even considering trying to build sexual relationships). I am similar, but I have a few (mostly online) friendships from gaming and school which I have maintained to an extent over the years. ER didn't even have that. In his isolation, he had only his rage to embrace. That's the end result. I firmly believe most of these people are products of the conditions. There may be some people that seem genetically "bad" and were just innately evil in spite of being raised in what some consider to be good conditions (but how can we really know?) Examples of this would be Jeffrey Dahmer, who claims to have had a good childhood. IDK if we can believe him, but by all accounts, he was a happy kid. On the other hand, you have people like Ted Bundy (raised by his grandma who pretended to be his mom, his apparent sister was his actual mom, possibly there was incest in the family (Ted's grandpa raped his mom), AND his fiance dumped him) and Richard Ramirez (cousin was a green beret who showed him decapitated vietnamese women he had sodomized, taught Richard to hunt and kill, and murdered his wife by gunshot to the head in front of Richard when he was 13 years old...You can't come out of that childhood a normal human being).

This. Sooooooo much this. There is a difference between being different and being weird. It is very okay to be different and feel out of place at times.
But being weird is an intentional lack of wanting to improve yourself. No amount of social autist/INTJ bullchit explanation will make me change my mind. I have seen the weirdest of weirdos finally get their chit together and make the choice to be better, and they are flourishing.

Again, no it's not. You think people choose to be awkward socially? I'm 38 years old and I still have no idea wtf people are thinking or talking about most of the time. I work in a large office, surrounded by other people. We converse often. If this were something to be overcome, I would have done so by now. I simply don't understand people, and there's nothing I can do about it. Additionally, I have nerdy interests, which again is not a choice. Nobody chooses what they're interested in, or what they're not. I can't help it that sports bore the living fukc out of me, and that I'd rather read a technical manual than watch the Super Bowl.
Now, I could force myself to engage in hobbies I DGAF about, but I'd never enjoy them, and I'm sure the people around me would pick up on my displeasure. That's no good for anyone."That boulder is too large. I could lift a smaller one."

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If prostitution was legal it would change the entire dating/social dynamics.
