yup, just had our first today; yesterday and monday were rainouts. It was fun, but we have a couple new coaches so it was surprising to see their personality come out. Most everybody was WAY too pscyhed up though, we're running or cover 2 and 3 base call and people are runnin around freakin out, coaches gettin all crazy it's the first day of spring, calm the f*ck down.

Haha yeah...I tried to keep it toned down, but I got a little irritated at some point. Some of us are just like that, I always tell my teammates "Don't take ANYTHING I say or do out on the field personally."
Coaches were pretty laid back, and we had a great tempo, so that was a plus.U.S. Army Veteran

Transferring to GVSU
i signed with Grand Valley, and strangely i was on this site asking for advice about boxing and cutting down and maintaining strength etc... a lot of ppl was hatin (which is appreciated) saying my stats we're false lol and i should b in the NFL with stats like that etc..., but a guy mentioned if i signed to Grand Valley he'd b impressed and at the time i was like who the hell is Grand Valley I'm from Cali lol. But yea i tripped out there and the coaching staff can verify my stats. Lookin forward to getting out there and establishing myself with the ppl and team, total new experience for me, don't know what to expect coming from where i am, the ppl are really coo' here in Tha Bay and i love the diversity, but anyway, good luck to everyone on there seasons go hard... Any Lakers or Laker fans get at me!!!

Wow...today was a rough day. We did our normal morning running hell, then followed it up with 50 down-ups meant to drain us of life, then we had practice at 6 tonight...long, rough, day. No more football outside of lifting until Sunday tho, so I finally get some damn time to breathe.

bringing up an old thread... I'm thinking about walking on to an NAIA school for football... I def. have the grades(3.75 GPA and 29 ACT), and I'm going to be a senior in HS in a couple months.
The school I go to produces several(5-7) juco players a year, and usually 1-2 D1 players also. I'm thinking about walking on as a fullback, although I've never played the position(played DL in 7th/8th grade, TE in 9th, WR in 10th, LB in 11th, and starting OL this upcoming year).
Currently, my stats are
5'9" 200 lbs
Bench-280
Squat-470
Clean-260
40-4.9 Vert-30"
I'm not exactly considered a star, but I am a starter at LG. What I lack in size I make up for by coming off the ball quickly, but I have trouble driving guys bigger than me off the ball. Instead I just try to make sure I'm in between my man and the ball carrier and try to stand my ground, even if I can't push them back. I'm also a big cut blocker on pass plays.

"One morning I woke up and found my favorite pigeon, Julius, had died I was devastated and was gonna use his crate as my stickball bat to honor him. I left the crate on my stoop and went in to get something and I returned to see the sanitation man put the crate into the crusher. I rushed him and caught him flush on the temple with a titanic right hand he was out cold, convulsing on the floor like an infantile retard." -Mike Tyson

Averett University here. Yeah, we had one of the toughest schedules in the NATION in DIII. We played Mount Union the first game, then came back the next week and played Welsey College- a semifinalist in the playoffs, then we play our in conference games which is hard also. Right now, i've been pushing myself in the summer workouts with some of my teammates that stayed at school over the summer.
