Weighted sit ups and dumbell side bends. You have to use a lot of weight for lower reps to build a thick strong midsection.

I do the side bends with a 25lb DB and then 50+ reps of nautilus machine crunches, and decline situps.
Ive been told not to do weighted situps but Im willing to try it at this point.

Doing situps won't give you a look like that. Heavy weights and "supplements" will though. These guys work their abs doing massive lifts that stress the core, not hours of crunches. Olympic lifters and powerlifters usually have thick waists. As do the top level bodybuilders, but that's usually from something else...

I dont really have a fixed diet nor do I count the calories of what I eat. I eat what I want, when I want. Mostly restaraunt and fast food. I also take multi vitimins, and 3 servings of GNC whey protien daily.
I always start the day by having a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. I try and eat 4-5 meals a day. When I say I eat alot I mean everything from chineese food, pizza, roast beef, steak, cheese, chicken, eggs, Pinapple, various veggies from time to time, tons of pasta and bread you get the idea.
I just ate a large (16oz) cheese steak and a 1/4lb cheeseburger an hour ago and Im starving now so I'm sure I have more than 3,000 calories a day. I know Im probably not going to live past 50y/o if I keep eating like this but Im havin a hell of a time doing it.

I've gotten a much bigger waist by doing heavy decline situps (full rom), squatting/deadlifting w/o a belt (make sure you suck all the air into your gut and flex your abs and expand outwards), heavy side bends (60-70lb DBs for 8-10 reps).
Stuff like that.

Not or steroids, it's and steroids.
Well on a serious side, yes those lifts hit the core. But to build big obliques and core muscles do one arm lifts. Look at the old time strongmen who did these lifts all the time. They have some huge waists and most were under 200 pounds. Marvin Eder was 200 pounds and had a 34'' waist with a 6 pack and no steroids.

Great advice so far, thanks.
Are weighted situps really even worth it? Ive been told that you will end up with back problems from those....

Bottom line = You gotta take roids to get a roid gut.

Roids or HGH will get you the wonderful roid bulge that Mariusz has. It is possible to get a similar look by working your core like you would your triceps, low reps and heavy but probablly not to that extent. Your more likely to look like Bill Kazmeier at that point though.

Kazmaier was on roids too. But they were different back then. However his look is attainable. Let me dig up some of the old timers I'm referring to and let you see if that's what you're thinking of.
They call that the GH gut. That's how bodybuilders with like 3% bodyfat still have pot bellies that stick out like basketballs.

Any thing involving the hips. Farmers walks, squats, box squats etc.

a 34" waist for a 200lb guy isnt really that much. I'm 6ft and 165lbs with a 33" waist with a six pack.

There is your problem right there. If you want a strong midsection 25 pounds isnt going to do it on a side bend. You need to be using anywhere from 100-200+ pounds for a dumbbell side bend. Also whoever told you to not do weighted sit ups dont know much about strength or power because those are the best for building a supportive midsection. Save the machines for the birds and use the free weights.

Keep your glutes tight and flexed throughout the entire motion and you will have no back troubles. Any lift you do can injure you if you do it wrong.

Marvin was 5 inches shorter than you. And on a person that much smaller with an inch bigger on their waist looks much larger. Just look at the pictures of him and see how thick he looks.

They get it from the same thing top level strongmen do, and it's not ab work.

heavy squats and deads have made a small waist a no go for me. I don't do much direct ab work and I put my core strength up against anybody who's doing a lot of crunches.

That's the way to do it. The best core work is heavy squats and deads.

1) Heavy deadlifts, squats, sit ups (good luck building huge abs with sets of 50), etc etc.
2) Peptide hormones and lots of food.

I would assume that'd be the case.
I agree with the last few posts, but none of them mentioned one armed work. That overloads one side and forces your core to work.

that guy probably uses alot of HGH IGFlr1 5000-6000-cals every day
and lots of other gear you will never get that thick without all that gear food and dedication that is only for the top 1% of the population.
squats wthout a wieght belt will thicken your mid section.

He eats a lot more 6000 cals a day, I dont know the exact number but I understand its closer to like 9 or 10,000. He works out like 6hrs a day. Oh and to the op HGH is the way to go for a waist like that.
