Side story: I remember in college I sat down to take a dump and looked up and saw "Z chits fierce!" written on the front of the stall. I remember thru that year, it seemed like every stall on campus that I used I'd look up and see "Z chits fierce!" in front of me. I'm not sure who Z is, but apparently he christened every damn toilet on campus, or it was one big coincidence that we used all of the same stalls.

I've never crapped my pants. I had a friend who I used to ride dirt bikes with a ton back in the day. TWICE while we were riding around before or after riding, he went to fart and ended up crapping his pants! He had to pullover quickly and get rid of the soiled underpants. I began to wonder how often this happened to him if I was witness to it two times, LOL.

I'm certain some might say you and I, based on the quality of our posts, are both quite full of potential donor material.

For some reason I find fecal transplant really disturbing. It's completely illogical, I know, but it feels like eating someone else's poop somehow.

The thought does leave a bad taste in ones mouth, I must confess.

Had me wonder what the process entails in finding and selecting for suitable donors, but decided to not research any further.

Sample screened for blood borne pathogens and common fecal pathogens. the only cases I'm aware of involve a relative donor. The patient undergoes a bowel prep identical to what one does for a colonoscopy. The transplant material is implanted via a colonoscope. In the past an NG was past down and I think positioned into the duodenum. Intellectually this would seem to be more effective as the colonization of the 30 feet of small bowel is direct. Via a colonoscopic implantation one can only transplant upto the ICJ..where the large intestine meets the small intestine.

The procedure avoids antibiotic use and the potential creation of more super bugs, although to my knowledge it is only used when several antibiotic rounds have failed.

The above is my recollection based on my experience, and I don't speak with authority on this topic. I didn't google it although I am aware that there are different protocols out there.

There is an eww factor, but c.diff kills a lot of people a year, mostly elderly and medically comprised patients. So FMT really is a serious topic worthy of awareness.

10 days after my 2016 heart surgery I got sent home finally. BUT... while I was there they pumped me full of poop pills and Miralax. Nurses get wet when a patient drops a log. Anyway... my 1st full day home. I was sleeping in a recliner for comfort and wake up and had to GO. I had a walker which went to the curb about 3 days later... and made my way to the bathroom that was all of 10 feet away.

I thought I made it in time.. did what I had to do and discovered a whole lot of wipeage going on. Figured I'd look down, sure as you-know-what my brown shorts are full of something the same exact color. I managed to get it all cleaned up and my shorts washed out in the bath tub. Sort of humbling.

No joke 2 weeks ago I was thinking its a fart but it was poop. Was quite weird but thankfully it happened at home. It's really easy to missinterpred that. I guess since we do not have a brain in our ass its harder for the body to destinct some farts from poop.
