I'm out once it corrects. Too much corruption. It's easily rigged

I know a guy who just put his whole life savings into several mining rigs, I think he spent around $15k and bought about 40 graphics cards etc.
This is what his exact words were to me "When I make a fortune people will say I got lucky...but I know what i'm doing... i'm going to be rich all whilst laughing at the peasants who think i'm an idiot"
He is already acting like he has made it.
Maybe he will... fuc knows.

I bought $5,000 worth of XRP/Ripple today at $1.02 a share.
I'm planning on holding for at least 5 years. If I lose all or some of my investment between now and then I'm OK with it.
If it goes up exponentially, I'm OK with that too.Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

You are stinging together words that you don't even know the definition of. That is the most clunky sentence I have ever read. But if you are asking why cryptography and blockchain has an advantage over the current system, I will break it down for you.
Since transactions are kept in a decentralized ledger, it cannot be falsified or controlled by a single entity. Meaning you are in control of your own assets. Without having to rely on an overseeing entity like banks or the government. Transactions also occur much faster than traditional wire transfers.
Not to mention smart contracts that can be executed on these platforms. We are basically at the 56k stage of blockchain technology. Wait until it matures in a few years, it will be incorporated into everything. Mastercard is already developing their own blockchain ledger to keep track of transactions.
The old way of keeping records are going to be obsolete. Hospitals are jumping on board as well to keep track of the enormous amount of patient records they have on hand.

Really? I know very little about it.
He went from being depressed in his job and telling me that he was going to find a new career to make more money. To suddenly investing all of his money in these rigs, putting them in his spare bedroom and sitting there like he is the next Warren Buffett.
He is already talking about quitting his job in a few months. srs
He actually annoyed me because he's gone from being depressed to "lol i'm going to be rich and i'll laugh at the poverty peasants in this world when i'm getting sucked off by 10/10's in French Polynesia."

No one knows for sure. BTC could be the Amazon or AOL equivalent. But the trend in 2018 seem to be focused on smart contracts and partnerships, rather than seeing cryptos as a store of value.
So platforms like ETH could really take off in the next few years. But like I said, no one knows for sure and don't let anyone convince you of a "sure thing". The only thing that is for certain is that the market will keep growing for the time being as a whole.
Just don't bet your life savings on a single coin. Invest in projects that have real life usage and a good team behind it. Don't chase fad coins due to hype. Do your research.

Plenty of people use it and plenty of people have a good grasp of it. But it is the early days. Think back when the internet first started. People thought it would never take off because there was nothing on the internet aside from usenet groups and shoddily put together webpages.
Cryptos are also at this wild west stage right now. But that is the exact environment where creativity thrives since there are no constraints or restrictions on what you can achieve at the moment.
I am a firm believer in cryptography and blockchain technology. There are coins coming out that are already resistant to quantum chips, if you are worried about that. The future looks bright for sure.
Just don't get caught up in chit coins pushed by fraudsters. Like in any industry there will be scammers out there trying to steal from the ignorant.

This is an absolutely PERFECT response for proving to me how you know absolutely nothing.
Then don't buy then jackass lol. IDC whether you decide to get some. It's a fantastic life-changing platform for billions of people, with or without you. With or without the idiots that have no idea what it even is and still invested.Last edited by phillyfreak7; 01-16-2018 at 06:09 PM.

Anyone who doesn't understand the significance of crypto ... you fall into the same category as the clueless people of the 1980s that didn't understand the importance of the personal computer.
One easy way to tell something has value is to see if the black market values it. In the case of crypto ... it is huge... and that is simply for its currency aspect.
This stuff will revolutionize the way data is stored and protected. The way the internet runs. The search engine industry. Platforms like youtube. Autonomous systems and businesses. On and on and on."There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle." -Gym Jones
