Seriously though, we lay low for awhile like they'll telling us and we might see this thing taper off a few months earlier than projected. The longer it goes on the more economic pain it's going to cause.
And the point about St Kilda is even if they're keeping a safe distance they've got to know when they're down there that they're helping to create another headline which just makes it worse. If we can't use common sense right now then the government is going to treat us accordingly and life gets worse than it already is.

Will they ever learn? Chinese markets are still selling bats and slaughtering rabbits on blood-soaked floors as Beijing celebrates 'victory' over the coronavirus
If the Chinese government refuses to put measures in place to ensure this does not happen again namely by permanently banning wet markets then the rest of the world should cease doing business with them and see how long it takes for them to get the message.
This is the perfect time to reboot the system and get local manufacturing firing again. We'll have 6 months or so to adjust to a new way of life and it gives us plenty of time to re-evaluate what's really important to us. How much do you really need cheap goods from a communist country that turns a blind eye to the proliferation of SARS type viruses?

^^ It really is a great opportunity to reboot the Australian society and economy. Getting thru the GFC without a recession didn't do us any favors, just allowed us to muddle on with no innovation, digging our rocks out of the ground for China, mass immigration to keep the KPIs going up and selling each other houses at ever increasing prices. A lot of outdated businesses will get wiped out during this, immigration will slow, housing costs will come back to reality. The supply chains of the globe have been smashed and broken and when they are rebuilt businesses will think twice about the risks involved and the kind of countries they want to deal with. When the next pandemic comes out of China we will see a vastly different response.

If I ever hear a cuzzy bro living over here slagging this joint...
"The government is also introducing a $1,500 "Job Keeper" payment. Businesses will be paid up to $1,500 a fortnight, per employee, for the next six months. The payment will be a flat rate of $1,500, regardless of how much they had previously been paid."
"New Zealanders living in Australia on 444 visas will be able to access the $1,500 fortnightly payments, the government has confirmed."

Will there be a reciprocal agreement in NZ or do they just tell Aussies over there out of work to fk off home?
Team Scromo is being pretty generous if you ask me. 6 month moratorium on evictions. Sole traders can now immediately write off $150K in assets in addition to income support. Far worse places in the world you could be right now.

How are the rangers gonna enforce outdoor gathering limits like at the beach? When they tell them to fukk off what are they gonna do?
Tackle them to the ground? Theyre not even allowed to get that close.I am the parasite, you are host. Deal with it.

Got to say, the way the Government has handled this has been incredible.
I don't think any Prime Minister before has had this much to handle in one term.. Bushfires and a worlwide pandemic..
