the microwave is faster at boiling a cup of water IME so that's what I use. Our family has a kettle but only my grandpa uses it.

Going to get a kettle for my family for chrimmas... And also for myself... You've all convinced me. I didn't realize I was wrong. I'm sorry.
I wonder how tea tastes different via kettle vs micro...***Sweet Southern charm voice. Boobs of Mass Destruction.***

Please don't use the language of the Old Etonians over here unless you want a dam good rogering up the wrong 'un from Biffer and Ginge.
The correct terms are far easier:
"Wanna brew?"
"Pop kettle on!"
Good grief. The one time we got bored fighting the Frogs and now look at you. Boiling water in the humdinger, pan on a stove. Make your mind up, are you in the 21rd century or have we not learned to use tools yet, which is it? Well you're on the Garlic Muncher's conscience now not ours.
Afew rules for tea making:
Do not put the milk in first - punishable by death.
Do not serve up in a matching mugs - don't want to catch diabetes off you.
Do not serve with biscuits - scones (pronounced scone as in gone not scone as in cone) only as soggy biscuit game is reserved for stag do's only.
Do not put the milk in first.
More rules than fight club I know but we've gone to war over this and less.If you can't accept me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best - Adolf Hitler
