Hi there John.
Here's a brief 'nutshell' summary.
Whole food is your priority. Fill in the gaps with supplements.
Don't bother with weight gainer (unless you're legitimately having trouble gaining weight. But there's other options to increase calories, such as intake of more peanut butter/nuts/healthy oil).
Protein powder is great, but try not to rely on it *too* much.
Vitamins and minerals - most of these you'll get from whole food, research which multis out there are quality high-bioavailable forms and not.. well.. crapola.
If you're into weightlifting or general exercise and feel supplements will suit what you're doing, then look into safe and quality products from reputable brands. Such as creatine monohydrate and fish oil.

Bench: 2.5 lbs / 5 lbs
Squat: 3 lbs / 6 lbs
Deadlift: 4 lbs / 7 lbs
