iPhones hold value well compared to other phones. That’s what got me into the iPhone life. Verizon will give me $500 for my current cell phone if I upgrade so it’s really just $500 to upgrade and not $1000. Assuming in two years I’ll do the same thing with iPhone 12 it’ll be around the same. $500 isn’t a lot of money to spend on something you use literally every single day of your life. That being said, I have not ordered iPhone X but I’m temped to just so I can get that $500 for my current phone while I can. .

As for android vs iPhone, who gives a fuk. I just like the resale and reliability of iPhone (had a Samsung years back and it was the glitchiest phone you could imagine. I’m sure they’re not like that anymore but it still bothers me to think about) Plus top of the line androids are around $1000 these days also but resale isn’t as high as iPhone.

iPhone is my only Apple product btw. Use surface laptop as computer and wear real watches (no smart watch)

My point is proven. People who don't know how to quantify a concept in a way that enables them to make good decisions regarding abstract concepts will be all over this. You don't even know what a "$1000" smart phone is supposed to do because you've never seen one until now yet here you are asserting that you know everything.

I know I don't need a $1000 smart phone because I've got $150 asus that came out 3 years ago already does everything with low latency as it is. The only thing "luxury" phones do that others can't is large texture 3D gaming which there isn't even demand for yet and fukkin lol if you think apple's OS is going to appeal to these types of development teams right now.

I personally don't like Apple products, but as far as phones go I just run mine until they start breaking down then upgrade to whatever is out. I actually still own all of the phones I've ever used and they all still work. I don't mind the higher price tag(I think my S7 was $700 or something like that?) if it's a solid phone, but I think it's stupid that people will upgrade their phones every year just to have the latest thing. I've never understood that as long as I've had one.
