Agreed! I spent literally hundreds (if not thousands) on those. I remember the box they would come in, and then you would dump the packet into a shaker cup and it literally tasted (looked and mixed) like cake batter. It was so darn thick, so darn nasty ... but those gainzzzzzz

Man, it was thick. Probably the thickest protein shake I have ever had. I literally burnt out one of those stick blenders trying to mix it at work one day! Nasty is being nice. But it was cream of the crop back then. So glad things have changed.

Agreed on that one was well. I remember when "Beverly International" was like the unicorn of weightlifting supplements. If I was in a store and stumbled across the line of product it was like I found the "secret" and "holy grail" of supplements. Even though they were pretty much overpriced the profile was the same as just about everything else on the market.

But I do remember one product they had (maybe the beef liver tablets or something??!??) where I would pop about 60 of those horse pills each day. Never made a lick of difference (in anything) but man I sure felt like I was going to become Jay Cutler at any moment

And you know what else I got to thinking about when I was in the gym this morning and resting between sets and looking over at the drink cooler that my gym has had since about 1992 ...

ABB Ripped Force ready to drinks.

Those things were legendary when they first came on the scene. Probably (in my eyes) the first true pre-workout product. I remember walking into the gym, buying one of those and drinking it while I worked out (and the energy it provided). The original one's contained Mau Hung extract or whatever it was, basically ephedra.

Xtend is one of those that had long staying power with little or no changes to the profile.


That is the problem with supplements nowadays....profile gets upgraded/downgraded every year or gets replaced by another product. Thus pretty much disqualifying them from being in the Supplement Hall of Fame (SHOF)

Came in to say Xtend, we have additions to the line but regular Xtend is still there in all of its glory.

This was when I was a rep for Ergo (around 2004-ish) and there was no better tasting protein product on the market then this. The chocolate and vanilla (and thinking about them now) still make my mouth drool. Absolutely incredible!
