Hey folks, it appears like it's been a few years since I've kept up with my journal. Must be, since I can't even locate the old one...I've been archived....aaaahhhhh!
I have been lurking, checking in once in a while. My passion for lifting has not ceased; still training like I've always have, just not writing about it. Figured I'd get another log going just in case anyone is interested in seeing the occasional progress shot, latest food creations or crazy kid adventures....so basically pictures of cake, leg shots and my little men.
So without further delay:

Hope you enjoy....and good to be back....

A coupe of throwback pictures popped up on my FB page that I found a little funny.
First is from my 1st BBing show in 2009; I was 2 weeks out:
I was most likely hovering around 185lbs here; and my 1st born Nathan was probably around 13 weeks old then.
Fast forward to 2013. This is my 2nd, Evan; would have been around 2 years old. Love the Hulk hair on him, lol. I think I was weighing around 230lbs

Ha ... the kids look great in their Hallowe'en outfits. Looks like their dad's been an inspiration
Haven't seen you around for a long time but you've always had the most shredded and vascular legs and good to see that that hasn't changed!"Better to wear out than rust out!"

I'll admit that your question threw me...LL Cool J???? lol I finally clued in. But on my defense the 90s were a while back...right?
Thanks, though sometimes I feel like I could be doing more on all counts. But I'm sure we all feel lilke that sometimes....
Thanks mate. Even though I haven't been posting I have still been lurking; keeping up with things. My motivation has been all over the place, and I guess I've felt like I didn't have much to contribute at times. But I'll try again, and at a minimum you'll get to see what my boys get themselves in to, lol.Team General Mills

So, there was an interesting event in the parking lot at work late yesterday afternoon. A car fire took out two. I was parked beside one of the cars that morning, went out at lunch, then parked adjacent to it in the aft. I saw firemen hosing my car down with foam after the fires were put out. Thought I got away with no damage but later found a scratch along the rear panel along with a small dent. Probably happened when the firemen were dragging their hoses, equipment back towards their truck. Ugh, now I may have to deal with an insurance claim.

Hey M.A! Hope you pop in every so often.
So after seeing a reference to Convict Conditioning in Loggerboots' journal I was intrigued enough to download myself a copy. Now after inhaling all the info I jumped right in and started the program. The program focuses on the "Big Six" movements; Push Up, Pull Up, Squat, Handstand Push Up, Leg Raise, Bridge. Each movement has a 10 step progression to it, each step harder than the last. This is a bodyweight program, and I'm going to use it to supplement my traditional weight training routine. Yesterday I did the Squat and Pull Up and this morning Push Up and Leg Raise. Already I've been challenged, so it makes me curious and maybe a little anxious to see how challenging this will become.Team General Mills

Fun to make me suffer? Did the assisted squat 2 days ago, 3 sets of 30. Yesterday my legs and hamstrings were aching like never before and my hips were so tight; I was moving like an old man. Tomorrow I'll be doing the squat again; this should be interesting.
This morning I was working on the Handstand Push Up; let's say attempted the Crow Stand, as I lasted a mere matter of seconds each time. The second movement was the Short Bridge; here I managed 3 sets of 30. Followed this up with a couple sets of side laterals, DB Curl and 32 min on the bike.
Mo!!!!! I bringing all the old crew out of the woodwork....better come in here for more than just a few waves!Team General Mills

Excellent and thanks!
Back to convict conditioning this morning; assisted and half squats, incline push ups and vertical pulls. Followed this up with 32 min on the bike.
This will be the last workout for a few days; had the big snip this morning, yup a vasectomy. I'm in lounge mode for the next little while...
Nathan had been creating some more costumes lately:

Surprisingly not in as much pain as I thought I'd be. Do have a general soreness, and some interesting bruising, but all in all not too debilitating. Probably shouldn't ave, but this morning I did some exercise, incline push ups and vertical pulls. Followed this up with 2 types of incline press, lat pull downs, reverse pull downs and face pulls. Not a mind blowing workout, but I felt the need to move....not used to not working out everyday.....Happy Monday???? lol

Then I should apologize for all the future treats I'll be posting; like the emoji cookies we made.
Things are going pretty smoothly, but I may have overdone it this morning, pushed things a bit too hard. Did some Vertical Pulls, Flat Knee Raises, Short Bridges and Kneeling Push Ups. Felt okay during, but a little tender afterwards; nothing a little Ibuprofen couldn't fix....Team General Mills

The last two days I've only managed to do cardio on the bike. I've found that this little break in my routine has already affected my motivation. I've found it hard to get out of bed to train before work; honestly feel like bailing each morning. I hope things get better, as I continue to mend and de-bruise, lol.

Back to almost normal this morning. Felling a bit more comfortable so I dabbled with a bunch of movements; Incline & Kneeling Push Ups, Vertical & Horizontal Pull Ups, Short Bridge, Flat Knee Raise, Supported Squats. Followed this up with 34 min on the bike.
On an unrelated note, ran into this article on FB yesterday.

I passed along the story to my boys, how Jacob might really enjoy getting some cards from them. Looks like we have a card making party coming up this weekend....Team General Mills

Training has still been erratic. Felt okay on Sunday, did some (relatively) heavy pressing and lat work. Today just didn't feel it, so only cardio first thing this morning.
Yesterday we attending my wife's Company Kids Christmas party. The boys had their visit with Santa, made some ornaments, got candy floss and popcorn, saw a magic show, received a nerf machine gun and RC Mustang as presents; a good time all around.

Pretty much back to normal activity, in the gym and out, lol....
My family just spent the last week in Punta Cana. Went to a great resort that had a huge waterpark. The boys had a blast; I did as well, being a big kid myself. Plenty of sun, food and drink too....the funny thing is that even though I easily tripled my calorie intake (probably drank my normal calories) I came back only 1lb up. Must have been the daily visits to the gym, plus all the stair climbing. Here are some pics:
First time on a plane, so they were excited:
