The media was trying to start a fire, and he was TRYING to put it out before it started. I'm not saying I agree with it, I just know what he was doing. The media was setting him up with the narrative of him not calling the soldiers...evil Trump...this is what president's have done since the beginning of time. George Washington called the family of fallen soldiers. He was trying to get out in front and say "look, calling is MY thing, its not something that is typical of the president to call every damn time. So back the fuk off, and let me handle it." And really it was unfair to be critical of "you haven't called...you haven't called...you haven't called" when calling is not something that has been done on a regular basis in the past.

This one is tricky because the words themself are not the issue. They are literally the words that Kelly received when his son was killed. Its the tone and context. The way the congresswoman reported the tone, and slightly changed up the context, makes a big difference. And what she did was for political reasons, which is why Kelly said it made him sick to his stomach after watching her on TV do what she did...and part of what compelled him to speak out. He was there when Trump was making the calls.

Maybe Kelly is lying, who knows. But I think once Kelly came out on the subject, it put this baby to bed. Trump called a grieving widow and did the best he could. The lady on the other end was so politically motivated she either had a congresswoman listen to the call or contacted her immediately afterwards. Sad. But I guess she can now officially post #resist on her FB page...amirite?
