In your original post you mentioned that Christmas is an important aspect of American tradition and culture. Why do you think that is? Christmas is a shortened version of Christ's mass, and is at its core completely religious. If you are not celebrating Christmas for its intended purpose, then you are responsible for its dilution.

Gotta love it how the left always defends the ridiculous **** far progressive left does and at the same time doesn't acknowledge anything what is happening. As far as the thread goes - good to see Christian values and traditions being preserved for a change. It seemed to absolutely be a problem for the group previously mentioned, and the whole "we are saying Merry Christmas again" is not just about saying Merry Christmas, but strengthening Christian traditions that were portrayed as negative and rejected from the public domain by the far left. Try to catch up, you all sound painfully slow, and sometimes it feels like talking to 5th graders.

I have never felt like Christmas has been diluted (at least not where I am from). In all honesty, I feel like Christmas is constantly getting stronger year after year because it is such an important marketing tool. When I was younger it seemed like Christmas lasted a few days. Today, I feel like we are hit with Christmas decorations and commercials before Thanksgiving even starts.
If Christmas is about "family gathering, dinner and grandma's cookies" to you, then you have more in common with Jews and people of other faiths than you think. A lot of them view Hanukkah the exact same way you see Christmas. You would probably like Fesivus the most because it is the most similar to Christmas but without the consumerism that you don't partake in.YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE

No, you can't choose whether or not to believe in God, but you can choose whether or not you will respect the tradition and culture of your forebears by celebrating Christmas for its intended purpose. If you want to celebrate gluttony and consumerism, by all means. However, if you want to celebrate Christmas, attend church, feed and clothe the poor. You don't have to be a man of conviction to do good deeds.

Dilution? The holiday itself is a mesh of several traditions combined. Wasn't even a holiday for almost 100 years after the nation's founding. The way it is celebrated is all over the place, but that just means people enjoy the holiday in their own way. It has something for everyone and brings people together. Christmas is fine and nobody wants it gone, not even happy holiday people.

Literally the most insulting thing anyone has ever said to me.
Anyway, Christmas is also strong here and never has been significantly diluted, but that's only because I live in the very religious south. I even remember as a child that Nickelodeon ran a long seasonal special about "Merry Hannukwanzakamas" or some garbage like that. Didn't think much of it at the time, but now I'm old enough to value Christmas as being less about presents and more about my culture.
The poor can clothe themselves with hard work and abstinence from drugs and alcohol. Not sure what point you're trying to make since I celebrate Christmas. As you trying to sell me on Christianity, or are you saying that you can't have Christmas without church? Because that sounds an awful lot like the religious forcefulness from which our European ancestors fled.
