is this even possible? do I just go into a bar and start randomly talking to people? going to be leaving college soon and most likely moving to a different area.

Best way is through work usually. Otherwise you can use meetup.com.... bumble has a section of the app meant for making friends. i have never tried it out but if you are desperate

take up a group hobby, go to weekly/monthly events that are smallish(5-20 ppl) go to lectures or activist type programs. Go to a church/mosque/cult group and chill there. After a while people will remember you and while people are waiting in the lobby or something just say hello and if they seem social just make small talk and go with the flow.
Hit up family if you have some in town and do something with them, if you have a big extended family then its a great way to meet people to do stuff with.
Stuff like hockey will often have ppl going for drinks/food afterwards and after a few games just ask to join them.If you can't take a joke, supplement misc,female misc, teen misc ----------->
How to get mod repped: post anywhere but on the misc or just join a rep trad...I mean SEAAAAAAAAAAAAA thread ;)
