Not sure I even want to continue watching this MauLer video. It's bad enough knowing the stuff I noticed that was abysmally written without hearing about all the chit I didn't notice right off the bat

Because every once in a while a piece of entertainment will come along that is so much deeper, thought-inducing, intelligent, etc. than the usual Hollywood popcorn entertainment. Many of Christopher Nolan movies are like this, Breaking Bad was like this, I personally think Lost was like this, and Game of Thrones was definitely like this up until recently. It's a damn shame that it has lost what really differentiated it between solidly entertaining tv and the greatest shows in television history. Yeah it may be just solidly entertaining tv right now, but I don't think that's good enough for what was going for six seasons as the greatest show in television history. That's what we're pissed about.

i think it's personal opinion though. for me. i found every other tv series so boring except westworld. like the writing in most tv series is so... not even interesting enough for me to watch. i've tried all those popular tv series and they just don't intrigue me at all. so i drop them right away. so i don't understand why people who hate game of thrones keep watching. it's so annoying. like that would be me watching breaking bad or whatever the **** popular series is nowadays and picking out everything i hate about every episode and complaining about it lol. that would be ****ing stupid lol. i just don't watch it if i don't like it

The way they treated this episode after seven years of invested time/thought is borderline criminal, it's not at all surprising that people are pissed

Im gonna make a prediction.
The moral of the story is a reminder the Jews won.
Whats going to happen is there is sum chit is gonna go down, and Cersei is going to basically win before she gets a call from the banks and has to close shop. And the bank switches sides to fund whichever war benefits them. So the "Game" of Thrones is more about money than power (Because money can buy you power.).

I was defending the writing right up until S8E2 dude. If you go back a couple weeks in this thread, I was in here harping on about cutting the writers some slack and to see what happens in the season. There were a few missteps from the middle of Season 5 on, but overall it still wasn't that bad
This was simply too much, and it was supposed to be the climax of the series
Anyways I'm done focusing on it, now it's time to see what the next three episodes hold

the dorne arc was pretty bad. the only real bad part of the entire series imo. but still entertaining. season six's little quest up north was really bad too, but entertaining. i barely found any faults within the last episode. and i've been a super hardcore fan since episode 1 of season 1 aired. i could nitpick but i enjoyed the episode way too much.

There have been plenty of bad or uninteresting parts, even before they departed the source material.
This chit happens when anything gets hyped to the moon. No matter what happens, it cannot meet expectation. Plus, people have this weird sense of ownership over shows they get invested in. They feel owed.
Hype is definitely a double edged sword IMO. Its great if you want to sell a lot of something, but it will definitely diminish the likelihood of a positive reception.

that is a really good point
idk i loved the series since the beginning and i thought last episode was a masterpiece for a tv episode. there are things i didn't like but overall holy ****. the camera work was insane.
i think we'll have one more battle hopefully. cersei + golden company vs the rest of the "good guys"
i'm just wondering what bronn is going to do
northern alliance seems ****ed because no army. no unsullied no dothraki. so wtf lolLast edited by 2RDEYE; 05-02-2019 at 06:29 PM.

Marvel has been building their cinematic universe for over a decade and Endgame was the climax of their current story. but Marvel absolutely knocked it out of the park. I watched both Endgame and The Long Night last Sunday, and they couldn't have been more different

Honestly I don’t understand all the hate for season 6 - hold the door and the finale were two of the best episodes of the entire series.
Season 7 was terrible and the ending of the last episode was as well(shame because it was great until then)"When it comes to matters of the heart always follow your dick"
Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.

I assume you're referring to their quest up north in season 7 when they kidnapped a wight? That was the stupidest thing ever in the entire series. Not only was it a retarded idea at the time, we learned in S8E3 that they didn't even need to do it and they should have known it...
That little plan gave the NK the ice dragon. The NK destroyed the wall with the ice dragon which made for the imminent threat of the WW attack. If he never got the ice dragon, would they have ever gotten past the wall? At least Jon and co. would have had much more time to prep.
Second, we learned in S8E3 that they didn't end up needing Cersei's army to defeat the dead, thus they didn't need to kidnap the wight in the first place. Well you might say Jon and co. didn't know that at the time, but they should have. In fact, they didn't need to fight the dead at all. Their entire plan in S8E3 was to use Bran to lure the NK and stab him with valyrian steel. They didn't even need to fight the dead in the first place, and should have known that they didn't need Cersei's army to stop the WW threat.Never neg first but always neg back crew

Season 6
- battle of the bastards was again, all hollywood no logic
- arya getting stabbed a million times vs waif and sleeps it off
- hold the door was the highlight of the season, and GRRM’s idea ****ing lmao
- God awful conversations between tyrion missandei and the dickless dude
- danaerys apparently being fireproof as a plot point when she burns the dothraki leaders even though GRRM said she wasnt fire proof
Thats just off the top of my head
Also the pope bernie plot in kings landing was dragging on real fuking long, the opening sequence of the finale was pretty good$0 or $1 million crypto crew

Even if there were holes, the writing was solid enough to not have fans immediately questioning every little aspect of the movie upon exiting the theater. I wasn't thinking about any plot holes when the credits rolled, I was thinking about the chit they pulled together from a decade of storytelling and meshed into a cohesive, awesome finale that even managed to surprise me (in a good way) on several occasions
The fan reaction says it all in both cases

yeah was referring to that little quest... it was.. i mean they could've thought of a better way to do it. i think it was necessary to prove something to dany and cersei. but the way things ended up was ridiculous lol.
and they did luck out last episode. and they did lose pretty much the entire northern army, unsullied, and dothraki, which is all their forces. so really they did lose the battle, but won the war.
they were ****ed without melisandre. most of all.
they couldn't have done it without arya. there's no way jon would've got the night king.
arya is fast and stealthy, she only won though cause she tricked the night king. There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

Here is the problem. Its all Hollywood Indian Jones stuff now. Jon and Dany should have died last night. Thrown us all on our heads. Think back to season one when the King dies randomly in a "hunting accident". Nobody saw that coming and thought he was going to be a major player.
There are not major, and i mean MAJOR, plot twists anymore. Its just rah rah straight line plot crap.

I didn't care for Daenerys storyline in the books or on the show. The whole slavers thing was pretty boring and there just weren't many interesting characters in that part of the world. Dorn wasn't bad for me. The sandsnakes were awful but I liked both Princes and their kids.
Endgame was a good movie. I thought it was a little slower paced than Infinity War especially with the confusing time travel shenanigans, and we'd seen a lot of the same combat sequences before in Wakanda so that brought it down a notch for me, but I still enjoyed the whole movie.
S08E03 of Game of Thrones started off outstanding but it just didn't hold up passed the first few minutes. Once they started doing the fake out deaths like they were copying Glenn hiding under the dumpster in Walking Dead it just started getting silly. Oh, Brienne has 15 zombies dry humping her but for some reason they don't kill her. Meanwhile a single surprise zombie takes out weird nobody Edd in one shot. Oh Sam falls on his ass and has zombies hacking away at him, but we cut to another scene. 15 minutes later Sam is still rolling around on his back and the zombies still can't get him. But somehow drogon lands and has 300 zombies on him in about 5 seconds. There was just so many ridiculous scenes with the main cast and the couple of nobody deaths didn't make up for it. I won't even comment on the pathetic "surprise" ending.Last edited by Kev1972; 05-02-2019 at 07:47 PM.

Hardly any faults? How about the entire war scene making zero sense. The placement of troops, artillery and defenses? How about the fact the didnt even defend the walls although wights are highly flammable? Nothing in the episode makes sense. Literally nothing. Even something as simple as a fuking dog taking marching orders from Jorah. Its absolutely retarded. Why would a brainless zombie pick up a soldier and observe her? Why would countless scenes show people getting swarmed by 10 wights and the next scene, that person is magically agian fighting off wights.
The whole episode was horribly written and executed.
Watch that YouTube review in this thread. It's a perfect summary. Fans are allowed to vent. Nobody in this thread "hates this show". Its the opposite and that's why theres 200+ pages of disappointment.**Spicy Big Butt Latina Crew**
