So the other White Walkers literally did nothing the entire episode. Could have atleast let them fight some of the other heroes. You know, like the ones with Valyrian Steel.

It was much more important to just track who had Valeryian steel weapons, since only one dagger actually mattered.

They've been setting up Arya to be the one to kill the NK for awhile, so I have no problem with it. It's not like the show writers are completely going their own way; they still know the major plot points of what will happen in the books. It wasn't some random "girl power!" moment that was forced or anything.

I think Bran was doing more than what was shown. Probably influencing things in ways that led to that perfect moment.

Maybe he lived through millions of timelines, and seen things play out a million different ways, all which everyone died.

Then he finds one timeline where things work, but barely, one sneaky ninja gets one shot, but that's all that was needed.

How was he influencing things? Well think of a perfect butterfly effect.

The Night King and Bran staring at each other in that final moment we think "This is it... Bran dies now.", but Bran isn't there with The Night King... The Night King is there with Bran. Exactly where Bran wanted him to be. Bran is looking at him knowing that Arya is about to come and kill him.

Similar to how humans can't comprehend the will of the gods so to speak, we just see a cripple in a chair with white eyes... "What the fuk is he even doing??? Makes no sense, why is he just flying around as a crow?" but Bran was in a worged state, influencing the world around him to perfection.

At least that's the way I look at it. Why not?

And posts like this emphasize why nothing needs to actually be explained by the writers.

Why explain how things unfold when you can just show white eyed bran and let fans piece it together for you out of thin air?

I would have had the dragon with all the wights attached to it struggle to fly and decide to crash into the undead dragon. The explosion would fuk chit up, knocking the wws around and drawing their attention. In runs Jon, slicing and dicing, getting into a proper epic battle with the wws, getting glimpses of NK, unable to get to him. NK gets more urgent, grabs Bran, reaches for his sword, jon sees it and goes fuuuuu and gets wounded and takes a desperate step toward NK, who is too far and then bam, arya comes in.

Yeah, I was super satisfied with the entire episode. Emotional roller coaster. Watching them being devastated, have a tiny comeback and then devastated again.

And then Arya when all was lost.

Hell, the previous scene even showed how sneaky she was. And it was set up seasons ago. And she had the knife Bran gave her that could kill him. It was awesome and unexpected and I’m pleased. And the season is only half other. I’m in for the ride and enjoying it a lot.

It was the exact same spot where she sneaked up on John Snow. Also the red witch said she would kill some one with blue eyes along time ago. More credit needs to be given by miscers lmao.

When the slowmo hit I felt pretty certain that the show was going to end on a cliffhanger of NK staring at Bran or some ****. Knew obviously he would die at some point so that the characters could move on KL but I didn't expect it at the very end.

I guess although the NK zombie plot started from episode one, it was still technically just a saga for the season or two, similar to the Cult in Kings Landing arch that looked endemic and destroyed a huge part of Cersei, her family, lots of sacrifice.

So KL was weakened by those plots, and Winterfell by these plots, and all intertwined, but it was always about WF vs KL ultimately.

At this point:

-It could be a happily ever after where Jon or Dany or both win with their fan favorite crew that have been through everything with Cersei being the final boss after further losses.

-Cersei could be the winner in the end if they want to be edgy (maybe with a Littlefinger potential element, this plot would make it most possible for his return which he is still alive even if they never show him again)

-if not those then the unlikely alternate could be some hybrid plot where they "co-exist" or something or mutually destroy each other (also, little finger on the throne)

Cersei has balistas everywhere, bombs everywhere, the best land army and the best sea army, anti air defense and the elephant deus ex machina. Will she get killed by her brother-lover in the end? will she be the bad ass in the end. Lets not forget she IS female.

If theres a place to be savage with the twist apolcaliptic survival of the fittest thesis ending that would be it. I am reminded of that scene early on where Cercei was in the woman shelter during the war lamenting on her survivor nature.

Only 2 things that kill this otherwise good episode for me is:

1) Arya coming out of nowhere. I’ve read what a couple people have said ITT....nope. Still doesn’t explain it. Also lol at everyone connecting the “prophecy” dots now about Arya and acting like they knew it all along. So much stuff has been said by so many characters that if any number of people killed NK you could connect the dots. BRB Beric killed him? How did you not know? He was brought back for a purpose!

2) The undead army destroying everything in its path, until the narrow down the good guys to just the main characters, then each of them are fighting them off by the dozen. Also, I know in the next episode there will somehow be thousands of survivors to go fight Cersei, but where the fuk were they? When NK revived everyone there were not many alive to fight them off. But next episode out of nowhere there will be some semblance of an army.

I really liked the episode besides these things, which were mostly just serious laziness by the writers. The intro and build up was great. When they got through the fire moat and started coming up the castle walls it was great. The giant swatting ol girl was funny.

This. He nearly killed every last person in Westeros 8,000 years ago. His arrival made it so cold that babies froze to death in their mother's arms and giant spiders feasted on the flesh of kings. He could only be beaten by a prophesied hero who bathed his sword in the blood of his wife.

Arya got hit with a stick and sold some clams for maybe 2-3 years.
