This isn't as bad of a trade as a lot of you are making it out to be
Thomas is 29, coming off a hip issue, with his entire game is based on speed, is in the last year of his contract, and is expecting/wanting a Max contract. Irving is 25.
Crowder was getting crowded out at the wing with the Celtics recent draft picks/acquisition. Easy give for the C's.
The only asset the C's gave that hurt is the unprotected Nets 1, which isn't looking like the top overall pick anymore. The C's also have numerous other high draft picks in the next 2 years. Can't just stockpile more and more assets in the NBA. Need megastars to compete for championships.Last edited by DefensiveEnd896; 08-22-2017 at 08:06 PM.

08-22-2017, 08:07 PM #110Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

I see what Lebron has planned. It's deja vu all over again.
Lebron acquires #1 pick.
Lebron leaves to go back to Miami.
Cabs acquire another #1 pick since Lebron left.
Lebron returns again to a super team.*Lone Star Crew*

People thinking the Celtics got fleeced are fuking retarded. Celtics did this for the next 2-3 years, not this year. Kyrie is younger and better. They didn't want to give IT the money. This frees up minutes for their young wings.
They weren't beating the Cavs this year. Now the Cavs can compete for a year and then go rebuild while the Celtics take over the top spot in the East. Cavs won the deal, but only slightly imo. If Celtics kept Bradley then I think it was about even.Last year I spent more money on spilled liquor in bars than 99% of miscers make in a year.
