it depends what u like and how long u spend there. there's so much to experience, even just in tokyo alone. all the different kinds of restaurants and bars, street food, a lot of different kinds of clubs and festivals, different shops and stores, the different districts. personally i would spend at least a week in tokyo, and then go to some popular hot springs, travel to the country on a bullet train check things out there, head to the mountains, find some good hikes, find some shrines, experience how things are done there.
