    oatmeal: how many times a day??

    hi
    i weigh about 170 at 5'7 and im on a cutting diet. i LOVE oatmeal. i eat it every morning for breakfast. 3/4 cup with cinnamon and some low calory sugar (brand is called twin) with milk.
    anyways, my question is how many times a day can i eat oatmeal? my diet is pretty much 40/40/20 P,C,F. my carbs during the day include: 3/4 cup oatmeal in the mourning 3-4 whole grain slices of bread throughout the day, 2-3 apples, some broccoli, and the carbs from cottage cheese, milk, and the other lil stuff, which isnt much.
    So is it ok to have oatmeal more than once a day? in addition to the serving in the mourning, like after workouts or around afternoons? i try not to eat things with lots of carbs after 7pm. the only carbs i eat after 7 is brocoli, apples..
    sorry for the long post, but i really need to know. thnx

    I eat oatmeal twice a day sometimes. There is nothing wrong with it. It is a better source of carbs than whole wheat bread or even sweet potatoes. I imagine that you would get sick of it if you ate it several times a day.

    Take 150 calories worth of oatmeal.
    Put it about 100-150 ml of skim milk( Milk here is not for the calorie content - I use this small quantity to actually cook the oatmeal for a few minutes in the microwave. With milk a nice little paste forms).
    After it has cooked in the microwave make it sit for 3-5 minutes and stir it to cool it until about room temp.
    Add 2 scoops of choc. flavoured protein powder like Optimum
    Add a chopped banana and stir until a choclately paste forms. A nice thick shake forms



    I used to do this when I was hooked to protein powders.

    I found that if I blend it after cooking it goes down easier. But I'm just a newbie to it lol.

    I used to hate oatmeal because i made it with water and it tasted like ****. Now i make it with milk and i love eating it.

    Hell yeah...I never get tired of oatmeal shakes. I eat 3/day np. Haven't ever tried cooking it, but that would take more time than its worth.

    I cook one serving (1/2 cup) with 1 cup of skim milk in the Microwave for 1:30. Then I add a packet of SPLENDA. Taste fine. It's no french toast or anything, but its not bad.

    Don't see why not, hell... to tell you the truth, thats what I would do, but damn 150g of carbs from oatmeal... thats 3 cups, ****, thats a lot of oatmeal... i guess if you dont get sick (i know i wouldnt, i LOVE oatmeal) of it quickly it should be fine.

    i love oatmeal, i have it every day for breakfast and sometimes after dinner. Each time i eat it, I use 1 cup of oatmeal,mix it with water,then when it gets out of the mircrowave i mix in some milk to cool it down, then I just mix in some cinnamon and salt. Tastes damn good to

    not sure if the salt is bad or not though

    I find the best way to eat oats (I eat a whole lot!) is to just throw a cup into about 500mls of milk and blend it up raw, very quick and conveniant... you have to do a quick blend before you poor each glass unless you want all the oats at the bottom
