Hi
I'm currently bulking and doing stronglifts 5x5.
What do you guys think of McDonalds as a post-work out meal? Is this stupid or will the body be able to digest effectively and use the nutrients to replenish the energy I need?
Due to only eating halal meat the only thing I eat from there is a fillet-o-fish burger and normally a meal. (No soft drink)
Thanks

What makes you think eating McDonalds would magically make your body unable to get the nutrients from the food?
Yes, it is fine...Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

It is garbage that no one should ever put in their body for any reason, but hell I have a Big Mac every now and then. If you are asking if it a good post workout meal, the answer is absolutely not, it's not a good meal for any occasion. However, if it is quick and convenient for you to grab after the gym atleast there is some protein in it. It won't hurt you , but there are certainly thousands of better options for a post workout meal.

It's not as bad as you think. The beef is 100% beef and it's excellent for stimulating muscle protein synthesis post workout. The carbs are excellent for replenishing glycogen.
The real downsides have to do with long term health: it's a low fiber meal, relatively high in salt and low in vitamins and minerals. Another issue is that some menu items may have too much industrial fats. As long as people use common sense and moderation there's nothing wrong with a Big Mac now and then.

Maybe now they're using 100 percent beef.
Personally, I rather go home and make my own cheeseburger on the grill or whatever.
I certainly wouldn't recommend eating fast food everyday.- Your mindset influences your outcome. It's time to take out phrases like "I can't" or "I don't have time" and replace them with phrases like "I will make the time" and "I will keep working at it until I find a way that works." Success starts with the right mindset and believing in yourself and your dreams.

Because they can't say what they want on their own website...
I haven't eaten there in probably 7 or more years so I can't give an opinion on how the quality of their food differes from before to now. But I choose to stay away from it and that's just me. Fast food restaurant worker here chiming in: I grab food at work 4-5 days a week. I'm cutting. I hit my micros (granted, Taco Bell probably has more produce to add to items than McDonald's unless you get a salad) and stay within my macros. Enough said.
