06-17-2017, 09:22 PM #67Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

I read some, but not all OP...
However you made a mistake.... it requires electricity to mine, via any source, therefore it is similar to mining gold etc... in that it requires effort and resources in the physical world.SINK Crew (Single Income No Kids)

Most of those benefits are destroyed by multiple crptocurrencies. Only one can prevail, else all the convience is gone, and you'll lose money and time having to convert from one to another.
It's like investing in HD DVD because the technology is better then DVD. Brb Blu-ray comes and kills you. There was no world where both Blu-ray and hddvd could coexist for consumers.

Within 6 months there are going to be multiple debit cards which can be funded with cryptocurrency and you can then buy anything through a normal point of sale system. One of which should be announcing partnership with visa soon.
MFW people say 'crypto is pointless cause you can't buy anything legal with it'

The way I see it is that I can bear losing the money I have put into this. I'm aware that it could all be a huge scam and the market's manipulated by a few very rich, powerful people that will cause many regular people to invest a lot of money only to be left with nothing while the rich, powerful people have multiplied their wealth and caused devastation. But since I'm comfortable possibly losing what I put in, I'm okay with the risks.
You have brahs putting in tens of thousands and I'm sure many of them aren't completely secure enough to be able to lose that money and not miss it. I'm putting in €3,000 mostly into ETH, some into LTC and some into alts and just holding for a few years. Once the prices rise to the point that I can cash out a lil bit of my coins to get back my original investment of €3,000 I will be happy because then I can at least justify it by saying I haven't lost any money. From there, I'll hold what I have left until the very end. I'm tempted to put ~€600 of that €3,000 into alts in order to do some trading because I know there's lots of money to be made from it, but I'm not very capable of being patient enough with that kind of thing and would probably be stressed. Holding long term can still potentially make a lot of money.Sonder
n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway.

brb cash is also a scam from inception
but at least you have a physical copy of it
spoiler/ unspoiler: it is created on a debt and passed down to you (the 99.999%)
banks can lend 10x what you have on deposit
vid cliffs: such is life
-will always be a govt-bank conflict of interest since they issue the physical notes
-market fluctuations are based on "confidence" - your ability to part with cash in a stock market casino
-when banks default on "debt-money", governments "we the people" f kn bail them out (examples: Greece)Last edited by lowroller21212; 06-18-2017 at 08:59 AM.

The OP is correct. To add, he's not saying some people won't make money, he's saying in the long run or short run actually, 90% of the money will go to 10% of the people invested until it fails. For those who make money, awesome, you did good. For the millions of fools who lose money, you have been warned.

Didn't read a damn thing, too busy counting all my money i made from crypto.
Just be smart and you can make a lot of money right now with crypto. If you are an average pleb you'll probably get burned.
Most people being negative about crypto cant afford to get in to begin with. They desperately want to invest but might be in a tight spot financially, so they resort to trolling around calling crypto a scam to make themselves feel better. Meanwhile the people who are in are enjoying fat stacks.
