Got my Porsche repainted this weekend (pics)

I had it coated with a product called autoflex. It dries into a film which, if desired, can be peeled off. It last 7-10 years for daily drivers and probably forever for my car which sits in a garage most of the time (not on weekends). It protects the factory paint underneath and can be tinted to basically any color. I even had a pearl additive thrown in cause why not? You can wash it and wax it just like normal paint. It can't get swirl marks. It was $1400 (the pearl additive was an extra $250) and it was only in the shop for 3 full days. Tell me what you think...

Now they spray a black base coat on it... After the black they did the pearl and then on to the blue (deep sea blue)

its not exactly a traditional paint job. It's to protect the paint underneath but it has the added benefit of being capable of being tinted. Bye bye rock chips and swirl marks. Brb peel it off in ten years and have pristine paint underneath.

Because it has like 20k miles on it and it's just in pristine condition and I want to keep it that way. Plus it looks better than stock in my opinion.

I wasn't trying to imitate an exact factory color, they can actually do factory color matching though. I just saw some samples and really loved that blue.

Thanks man. I'm happy with it. I was very close to doing the expel myself, but the Autoflex is a much better value and it does the same job with the added benefit of being able to color it whatever you want. You treat it exactly like paint after it's done.

No I just came across Autoflex videos on YouTube while browsing and then just contacted the nearest authorized installer in Houston.

It was a fair deal. The very low miles and it being owned by one person made it worth it. Also I paid an extra 3,500 for an extended warranty so the car was really closer to $35,000...

Edit: an s2000 ain't a Porsche though...

I've been watching Fonzy's videos for a long time now hes using this style too......along with Plastidip

1400 is still cheaper than a wrap and since its paint like it covers any pit's and some bad paint chips so its better than a wrap in that regard.
