You're right in thinking that a girl knowing you pay for Tinder is a massive DLV. Ultimately you have to pay for boosts, superlikes, gold etc. to have consistent success (at least with the very attractive girls) in some markets but then you have to pretend it all just comes naturally to you and you don't have to work or pay for anything. Most women honestly think that getting matches for guys is as easy as girls. So when their 4/10 girl friend has 1000 matches in a day and every right swipe is a match she thinks that if the same isn't happening for a guy then he must be a 2/10.

When in reality even a 10/10 guy can't compete with a 4/10 girl on Tinder in terms of match rate etc.

I'm concerned it's not a bug. Her distance is 700km away from me, so it's very likely she at least has Plus unless she was in my city recently. This isn't the first time I've seen this notification either.

100% true. I was on a date last night with a 21 year old, and I was her first ever Tinder date. I believe her, since she just moved to the city a month ago from a very small town where Tinder was not a thing. I wasn't interested in her (turned out to be a 5/10 semi-fatfish), but definitely enjoyed having convos with her and opening her eyes a bit about how the whole thing works. She was blown away when I talked about our discrepancies in matches, and why because of male vs female swiping behaviour, I basically have to pay for Plus or I get nothing out of it.
