I have great respect for you OP. As for 'fighting' here on this board, I don't bother with starting fights, but, if I'm attacked and called names, I'm quite happy to defend myself. Some good ones already posted. This is one that sticks with me. I first heard it about 10 yrs ago.

Attitude:

I've been given so much good advice in my life, but a lot of it needs context or explanation. Here are some simpler ones:

- Sometimes winning the argument is not the best course of action, even when you know you are right.

- Always check for toilet paper first.

- The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

- Don't allow yourself to get bogged down in the details, keep the big picture in mind.

- Sometimes you need to allow others to live in blissful ignorance. Telling the truth to "get it off of your chest" can be a selfish act.

- Anger clouds logic and judgement. Sometimes the expression of anger is needed in a discussion/argument/negotiation, but its better to learn how to fake it.

- The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

- Beware the man who's opinion costs him nothing.
