So you are getting out of the Paris agreement on climate change. A lot of negative reaction from the rest of the world but you gotta respect your president’s decision.
I don’t know if it’s the way things are done in the US but I would have though a referendum would have been a better way to make such a dramatic decision. Let the people decide.

USA out of Paris agreement.

In our way of thinking we did decide by electing him. He's just keeping a campaign promise. California, which is the fifth largest economy in the world is still honoring the principles though.

Obama got us into it all on his own.

The Paris agreement doesn't do anything except siphon money from the US to the pockets of bureaucrats. I don't really think installing solar panels in a couple houses in Uganda is going to do anything.
Let us reinvest into the US, and become an energy giant. The UN is garbage and launders money, while pretending to give a sh*t about the world.
It's the same people who criticize the US for being imperialistic (which is correct), then cry about how the US doesn't participate with the wealth redistribution and other bullsh*t the UN tries to pull."it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

It is certainly an interesting response. You'd think that the United States had declared war on the entire world. According to Nancy Pelosi, we have 'defied' the nations! LOL I don't see a 'full stop,' in efforts to diminish the nations carbon footprint. I suspect that the United States will continue to be one of the primary leaders in all things green and climate friendly. Ha! We just won't be crippled by an unrealistic, non-binding agreement, with tens, if not hundreds of billions of dollars thrown to the four winds. The international backlash is to be expected. You don't question, or fail to comply with the high priests of this new, global religion. There will be hell to pay. Ha! Financial redistribution on a global scale is the 'special of the day.' It's the first thing that is suggested when you sit down at the international table.

I went to the beach yesterday here in San Diego. I did not see any icebergs or polar bears so I think the sky is falling predictions might be a bit exaggerated.
If pansy world leaders and liberals are mad about it then it really tell you one thing. They were making money from it and are pissed that those funds have stopped flowing. Its always the same story. Take away the fat kids candy and he will pitch a fit. The fatter the kid and the longer then have been eating candy, the bigger the fit.
Why else do you think these people are pushing so hard for green this and that. Its not like any of these companies turns a profit. Its because their buddies own the companies and we pay for them. People will gladly vote to increase their own taxes for something they think will help baby seals and ducks. In reality it just gives billionaires and their cronies more money."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

It is surreal. There are those who are now championing China as the new, world leader in all things 'climate related.' Under the terms of this non-binding agreement, China is allowed to continue 'full speed ahead' in its own energy policies, regardless of the related climate effects. And if that were not enough, it is investing billions in those 'horrible' coal fired energy plants all over the world! LOL 15 billion dollars worth in Pakistan alone.

Similar to NATO and the UN, the USA lays out the most money. The US is still the leader in reducing greenhouse gasses.
Obama did not go through the Senate. He did it on his own because he knew it wouldn't pass. He did it to appease Tom Steyer, the hedge fund billionaire who pulled his strings.

Well it's good to hear other opinions on this. The only "truth" we know outside the US is what the media feeds us and that is pretty suspect most of the time.
Personally I'm on the fence about the whole climate change subject. I just say I don't know and prolly never will.Anybody can workout for an hour but controlling what you eat the next 23 hours is the real task.

Ha! I don't doubt that the climate changes. Here in North, Texas everything that you see for hundreds of miles around used to be under a shallow sea. It is one of those topics that seemingly can't be discussed, thought about, disagreed upon, without knashing of teeth, the accusation of 'climate change denier,' and the complete dismissal of any intelligent, thoughtful, reasoned analysis. I know one thing; when it comes to politicians, international organizations of every stripe and color, the motto is, 'never let a crisis go to waste!' There is too much money to be redistributed. Whether it has any effect on the climate or not!

As I understand it the "developed countries" such as the U.S. are responsible for pooling together and injecting 20 billion USD every year (with a stated goal of 100billion annually by 2020) into developing third world countries, and Obama had made a large payment already:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ect-paris-deal
Obviously the U.S. is not on the hook for the entire annual payment but $500 million, with another few billion "owed", ( we committed to 3 billion) is still an insane amount of money leaving the country that could easily aid our own country which has plenty of problems to be fixed.
I'm not saying Trump/Congress will or will not use that money responsibly, but in theory it makes sense to pull out of the agreement, go green anyways, and keep the billions in your pocket without wasting it on other countries. Will that actually happen? I have no idea.Last edited by 7Seconds; 06-03-2017 at 11:02 AM.

Climate does change...that's the nature of it. It changes every year, every, month, every week, every day, and usually several times throughout each day. But the idea that the US needs another route to redistribute it's wealth because of it while China does China...
...is indeed a hoax in my opinionWell meaning, elderly man with a poor memory...pause

If anyone supports this agreement they are fools. Trillions of dollars spent on a promise of reducing the center of the earth temp by .06 degrees.
I remind you they have no idea what the temperature of the center of the earth is. If it's an exact temperature. Or if it operates within a range. They have no way to measure it if they have no way to assess the history of it. It was only 3 or 4 years ago that they realize they weren't thworizing it right and now they are assuming it's 1800 degrees hotter than they thought then. They have no idea what the number correlates to as far as damage to the Earth or if it's permanent damage or just part of the cycle of this dynamic into woven ecosystem planet that we live on

So then what is the point? Just handshakes and empty promises while the U.S. is expected to keep their end of the bargain?
You do realize that they are talking about reducing surface temperatures right? I'm not sure you should be accusing anyone of being a fool.
As far as average surface and water temperatures, those are well documented. The scientific community is not at odds with one another and agree across the board that temperatures are rising and that humans have had an impact to some degree.

Trump is proving to be the greatest president we've ever had, and it's not even been a year yet. I can't wait to see all that he will accomplish in 8 years. Thank you America, for getting this election right.

You and your damn facts...exposing Obama's accord as global socialism with the United States distributing its wealth to other countries. If I listened to the liberal media, like a fool, I'd call you a xenophobic racist (ahhh, what the heel, I'd call you a homophobe too!) But, I don't listen to ABC, NBC, CNN, CBS, The New York Times, et. seq.
