Musk directly on Twitter: ✔ @elonmusk Don't know which way Paris will go, but I've done all I can to advise directly to POTUS, through others in WH & via councils, that we remain
The administration needs to listen to the business sector, the deal keeps america as the leader in global technology.

What would it do to Elon's bottom line if his customers didn't receive a 7,500 tax credit from the federal government for purchasing one of his vehicles.
It would be a shame if he lost that incentive and had to reduce the price of his vehicles or experience a lower sales volume. Especially during a time when Tesla's financials are looking so terrible.
And if SpaceX stopped receiving government contracts?
I wonder what percentage of Solar City's financials are made up of subsidies and tax credits.
His investors must feel a little nervous about that.
When you're running running a business that's so heavily dependent on the government's tit, it's important to not upset the leader of that government.Last edited by ContrarianIndi; 05-31-2017 at 12:54 PM.
I wish Hillary would violate me like she violated federal law

Yea, lets not support an actual entrepreneur who's legitimately trying to make the world a better place by creating new lines of products that don't adhere to norms. Let's just throw some more money into the hands of our oil companies who don't give two ****s about anything that doesn't increase their bottom line.

Is Tesla the only car to receive subsidies? Don't think there weren't tards back in the day who thought "hur dur why we need rail roads? We gots horses already." Prior to Trump the government tried to think beyond just what the mouth breathers at the time believe. Kind of like you guys now.

If it was up to me, we would be a lot more isolated than we are. I don't want to pay europes protection. They should do that themselves. I don't want to pay for other countries to reduce their carbon emissions. They should do that on their own. We don't need to enter into this terrible deal for the sake of "globalism". I care about America being prosperous and protected. I don't care about Europeans. And they should think the same as me. God forbid a country has to look after its own interests. Welcome to Trump's America, buddy.

Eh, I've been following the news on their big battery factory in Reno, NV. It's outside California so he's saving big money by building it there. Anyway, once that opens up, the price of batteries for his vehicles will be cut dramatically since that's what 90% of the vehicle actually is. If you've ever seen a Tesla chopped in half, it's pretty interesting. Basically wheels and batteries with some shocks. So if that works out and the price drops by 30-50% (eventually) then the entire vehicle infrastructure of the USA changes.
Also, the solar panel roofing. He's trying to make it so that all roof building is done with solar panels as a part of it. Basically self sustaining roofing in terms of power draw. If solar is built in to a roof, coal and natural gas use would be cut down dramatically.
Finally, SpaceX. I shouldn't even have to say much here but the company is re-using rockets and landing them on platforms in the ocean. This is going to cut the cost of space travel and payload delivery to space by an absurd amount of money that most people can't calculate.
I used to be on the fence about Musk but after watching what happened with SpaceX, I'm honestly more of a fan now and I hope his vision of the future happens. All this technology comes out but we're still using vehicles that create sparks and mini explosions to get around. We're apes when it comes to technology use, we need to step it up. Our only independence from Saudi Arabia and the main source of terrorism in this world will happen when we stop giving them money. Until then, we'll continue to get blown up by savages from 600 AD. I want that to stop.
