I've been on my diet for a couple of months now.. I started in the 290s and I'm down to the 220s now. Ive been counting my calories and just concentrating on getting stronger with weightlifting and that has worked well so far.
I'm having issues with extreme late night hunger.. It's never been this bad.. I'm used to going to bed hungry by now and not binging but it's pretty bad..I'm thinking maybe I need to change something up with my diet?
I've heard dinner should be at 7:30-8pm with a big amount of protein to keep you full.. Is their anything else I should do?
My issue is I have bad insomnia and can't sleep untill around 3-4am so I'm starving all night long. (I'm trying melatonin and GABA right now for sleep)
Would appreciate any tips thanks!

Maybe your deficit is too large, 70 pounds in a few months is nuts. But if thats not the case, then try saving more calories through the day to have a larger evening meal. Bottom line though is you have to work through it. I found I got hungrier as I got leaner and it does mean things slow down unless you are rock solid.

When it gets really late sometimes rationale goes out the window, and that's okay imo. It's fine to have a very healthy super low carb snack like celery or carrots or something that you can grab some of and munch. Probably will not hurt you overall and keep your mentally sane when you just had a bad night / late night.

I tend to sleep pretty late so for a long time I've had the same problem. For the last week or so I've been basically doing IF and eating my protein/main meal later at night. When there's less distractions like work or family or just things you can do in the evening then you're more likely to eat so that's a good time to have your bigger sustaining meal.

I save about 300 calories for the end of the night so I can have a pre-bed snack. If I'm not hungry I don't eat the snack, but I can almost never sleep on an empty stomach anymore. I've lost over 130lbs again recently and like you, the hunger pangs are stronger than ever before, at times I never had them before.
I've gained and lost over 100lbs more times than any man alive should. Do as I say and not as I do.
