I wanna see what the living people on the misc believe happens in the last moments of your life til you are officially dead. What do you think the moment you die is like?
And what do you believe happens to you after you die... Spiritually?
I'm afraid of death but it's inevitable. I fear the unknown.

No idea what happens but I feel like there is an afterlife and it's probably pretty fun.

The Great White Throne Judgement
This is the verdict: light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his evil deeds will be exposed." - John 3:19-20
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” - John 8:12

Modern neuroscience, while still developing, explains how we perceive our sense of self and observe our surrounding environment.
It also explains, when we die, the processes that give us these abilities are no longer occurring.
Anything beyond this, is fabricated bull****.
I will watch the video on NDE and be open about it, but they have historically been shown to be bull**** as well. I'm willing to go into detail with citations.I only read thread titles and my own posts.

I used to think death was merely the end, but now I'm thinking more and more that perhaps we ascend to a separate reality that we in our daily lives can barely comprehend. Perhaps upon death, through the release of DMT through our brains' pineal glands at the seats of our souls, our awareness opens up and we are swept up in eternity...entirely encapsulated by the inconceivably awesome power of the Joe Rogan Experience. Train by life, Joe Rogan Podcast by death.

Watched the video, acknowledging my bias, I tried to remain open minded.
Memory creation and storage is the function of a healthy brain. It is a physical process that can be measured. If someone is experiencing a NDE, they are not using a healthy brain. That is a blatant contradiction. It was specifically evident in this case when the medic stressed the fact she was unresponsive to pain. Her brain was not functioning correctly, yet we are supposed to believe that in that moment, she had the cognitive ability to create and store memories.
The memories of NDE almost always manifest in the observers mind after time has passed, that is, they do not wake up and remember it. It comes later.
We cannot even trust the memories we store in a fully conscious state of mind. There is a great deal of research in the field that shows we create our memories after the fact, and even in the face of evidence showing us that the recollection we posses is inaccurate, we try to justify to ourselves that we did experience it.
She categorically proved my point when she acknowledged she could not go into specific detail about the significant other and children that she 'remembered', but she knows that she she meets them, they will be what she dreamed. The memories and correlations are made after the fact. Similar to deja vue. You can't go into an event knowing that you previously dreamed about it. After the event you feel like it was familiar as if you previously experienced it.
Finally, recollections of events that take place during NDE vary in scope. None of them are the same. At Least the specific details. Vague details like emotion (another measurable physical process that requires a healthy functioning brain), or lights do not support a shared experience.
My point is, if there was an objective shared experience, it would be more legitimate. But there is not.I only read thread titles and my own posts.

But people who experience these events report very similar things, so there are underlying themes that are present in pretty much all of them. And this is true whether you get your head cracked, get electrocuted, drown, hang yourself, etc. Not trying to convince you of anything though because I'm sure I won't do that. I would argue that your claim about them not being able to experience emotions in those states is false. Now, you could argue that the part of the brain responsible for emotions is the last part to shut down, but people often report the strongest emotions they've ever experienced when they're in those states.
