Hard to say conclusively, but I'm going to go with no. That's about the equivalent of a 1050 Ti, and a brand new AAA title is probably going to be fairly graphically demanding. You could certainly play it on med/high settings and get acceptable frame rates, but max @ consistent 60 FPS seems unlikely.

thanks. yeah debating right now... i think by the time cyberpunk comes out i'm thinking there should be some good deals or major price drops on gpu's next year. i ordered the rx 570, because it's the lowest price i've seen on the latest gpu's in years but idk if i'm going to keep it. it's like **** i don't really need a gpu right now, games i play are not gpu demanding but that price and i'm still on a 270x

Rtx is their new platform that has both new hardware and software features

Main things
1) real time ray tracing. Shadows are created dynamically the same way they are in real life ie: light bounces around and casts shadows
2) dlss. A company uses nvidia a AI to be able to “predict” what the frame is supposed to look like. So you train multiple resolutions against a “perfect” frame and then you can essentially upscale with much better results

One key point is it appears that both these techs are too demanding for the 20XX series. It’s more of a proof of concept for now

lol @ them claiming they enabled HDR in ME: Andromeda. It hasn't worked in like 8 months.

I'm fairly certain that the cards are completely sold out, so at this point, you don't have a choice, you have to wait for benchmarks.

I wouldn’t be picking it up until thermal/noise benchmarks come out. I go for the quietest/coolest non-AIO card always. Pc noise distracts the hell out of me and I use 2.1, not headphones

I slapped on an Arctic Accelero IV on my 1080 and never went above 50C full load . I originally got the founders edition and put on a kraken 360mm aio but the variable pump noise distracted the hell out of me.

Wasted a ton of money so this time around I’m not playing around with any self applications....might replace thermal paste with liquid metal but that’s it

Makes perfect sense. I typically go either MSI or Asus, so am curious to see the stats on the both of them, before deciding if I want to pull the trigger or not. If I can max out my current monitor, or if the 2080Ti allows me to utilize the upcoming x35, I'll slap down the cash for it, keep my 1080, and then sell my 2080Ti when the 7nm card ship in a year or two.


I'm also curious to see how the 2080 Ti pushes VR, as I'll be picking up one of the next iteration of headsets.

While I can appreciate the tech behind the BFGDs, that would be something I'd look at for living room use only, due to it's size. Can't imagine trying to use that as my office/gaming display. :O

That’s exactly the reasoning I’m looking into getting one. I have my pc in my living room off to the side and I could toggle between the tv and monitor depending on use

Lmfao, well there yah go. I'll probably want something like this for CP2077, but I don't game much on the couch, so I'm not sure I'd get much out of it any time soon.


Edit: Then again, one of my major criteria when researching new TVs, is low latency/input lag for gaming, so these might be good for the ole console games when certain titles come out.

I have 3770k and not even considering upgrading cpu/motherboard/ram until atleast next gen of intel CPU comes out next year. Supposed to have hardware fixes for spectre and that other backdoor. They atleast now have 6 core chips as mainstream.


I might get a 2070 if they have good black friday sales though.

I could probably do the CPU since I won't be changing that socket for a while. TR2 uses the same socket, so if I wanted to upgrade from my 1920x I could do so and not need a new CPU block. The GPU though.. I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with getting a 20 series card since Nvidia has lost their minds with the price, and there's no benchmarks yet that show how much faster they are for non-Ray Tracing games.

For just a CPU loop it'd probably be around $100 for the block, and maybe ~$200-250 for the pump, radiator, tubes and fittings I assume. I have a monitor up for sale on CL right now.. if that sells I may go ahead.

I get a lot of stuff on Craigslist. No shipping required and you can usually try to have people hook things up and demonstrate that they work before you buy. It's full of scammers/morons though, so you have to be wary.

eBay is by far the best place, since they have buyer protection.

it's almost impossible to get ripped off as a buyer.

craigslist / reddithardwareswap will usually be cheaper, but you have zero protection that way

not really happy with the current orientation of my monitors, but this Samsung CF791 has a horrible vesa mount, and rather than hack it up, I decided I'd go back to triple monitors
