Read a theory on Forbes that the Night King is a super warg that can warg into the dead, so the entire wight army is a single hive mind. It's why he was able to see Bran during that vision and why the entire army noticed him immediately.

Also Jon Snow or Bran will be the new Night King since, "There must always be a L̶i̶c̶h̶ Night King"

Bran is the three eyed raven so he won't be the night king. That's gonna be Littlefinger's job.

Littlefinger leveraged Varys to confirm the existence of the night king, and leveraged Pycelle to get documented info on the white walkers. Pycelle tells Littlefinger how a person can become the white king.

Varys decides it's a good time to gtfo because he's scared shetless of Littelfinger and knows King's Landing is done for. Varys knows he has to unify as many great houses as possible because infighting amongst the living only benefits the Night King.

Littlefinger loses his brothel because of The High Sparrow and it is given to Qyburn, but he knows he can soon get it back because The High Sparrow will soon die. He tells Qyburn that he can stay in the brothel if Qyburn gets rid of Pycelle (Pycelle knows too much.) Qyburn happily agrees because of their history.

Being the Night King is a crappy job if the armies of the living are strong. Littlefinger starts a war to kill off as many great houses as possible.

Varys knows that if Danny (or Danny + Jon) can quickly defeat the Lannisters and destroy half of King's Landing in the process it's still better than a protracted war that benefits the Night King and leads to the complete destruction of King's Landing.

That's also why GoT is a war between Varys and Littlefinger (and Varys is looking fukked and powerless right now, but Littlefinger is right where he needs to be)

Wow, you really think Jamie is going to kill cersei? I never even thought of that being an option. But, I don't know about cersei sabotaging the resistance against the white walkers. She knows that would be basically sealing her own fate, and she doesn't strike me as the suicidal type just to get her enemies.

It's been pretty obvious for a while. Kingslayer will become queen (s)layer. It's tragic but he's honorable enough to do it.

And Lannisters have killed Lannisters before. Jamie is the only Lannister to understand Tyrion, and Tyrion killed daddy.

She doesn't give a fuk about anyone anymore. I don't even think she cares about Jamie. She cared about her kids and she may have cared about Jamie before. I think she just wants power and revenge at this point and doesn't care about anyone else. As long as she outlasts her enemies I can totally see her even helping the White Walkers.

Yeah in the battle of the blackwater episode she almost kills herself thinking stannis is gonna win so idk where she got that from.

What was the major takeaway from Tyrion being able to walk right up to the dragons and unchain one of them last season? A teaser that he has Targaryen blood? I guess I haven't noticed if anyone else (other than Dany obviously) in the show has ever been able to get that close without being killed.

Nobody got that close without Dany around I don't think. Can't wait for the Jon face to face with Drogon scene.

I watched a youtube video a few years ago that was looking at scientific explanations for the long summers/winters. Went into detail about how the planet could be in an irregular elliptical orbit, it could be orbiting a pulsating star, etc. Was really interesting and although I doubt GRRM ever thought of it, they are plausible explanations to the unusual seasons. so perhaps the white walkers have to wait for winter to actually kick in before they can use their magic to influence it

Their original plan was to surround Kings Landing and starve them out instead of just straight up blazing it all up. Might be part of the reason why she destroyed all of that? Doesn't make the most sense to me though lol

Instead of strafing the line of Lannister men, she was strafing the line of food that her army badly needed, when it was fairly obvious they would win anyways.

So she was 1. letting more Lannisters live than needed to, allowing them to kill more of her army, and 2. destroying valuble resources her army is desperate for.

And she wonders why she is losing the war.

To be fair the Dothraki were engaged with the Lannister army at that point so she would have risked friendly fire if she strafed them. It's probably hard to see exactly what the wagons are from the air and it's pretty natural to attack them

And...I mean...come on...it's easy to critique her from an armchair but things are different when you're in a fast paced battle riding your dragon

It's pretty cool that I had a hard time choosing sides during that battle. I really like Bron, but I didn't want him to kill Drogon. I like Jaime better than khaleesi but wasn't ready to see her get speared. It's going to be tough to watch when all the major characters start killing off each other

She needed a decisive victory to rob Cersei of her ability to wait out the war at the gates or feed the people or solider an army. So it would seem that Danny burned the crops to deny them to the crown, avenged the farmers who were stolen from, and maintained her alliance with the Tyrells.

Best guess I can offer. I do agree it would have made sense to kill the army and save the crops.

Just watched that battle scene again. I get a semi just watching that dragon come over the dothraki and light the lannister army up. Every samwell tarly scene was worth the watch for that 15 minutes.

Felt like I was watching 300 again for the first time. Goose bumps for 15 minutes.
