I dont think it was an over reaction AT ALL. The other cops there lacked any sense of authority or control of the situation. Ive seen meaningless arguing and yelling turn super violent very quickly when it just simmers. This is easily how things could escalate into a mini riot or stabbing assault in the restaurant. Someone needed to step into situation, take control and prevent the problem from becoming a whole hell lot worse.

The other cops has zero control. In fact, if you watch the video, that one female officer was basically in the fight getting hit and didn't even slow down those ladies from beating on each other. She was literally being ignored in the middle of the fight and the ladies were walking away from the other cops like they don't care.

Missing the point. Unless I watched a different video, the officer that barges in was not present for these activities? The people who were thrown to the ground werent all the ones who were physically involved? In fact, most werent the ones physically involved??

Again, I dont support the actions of these people, but I also dont believe an officer should just barge in like a mad man, having seen little to none of the situation, and start throwing bodies around. Violence typically does not diffuse situations.

Eh you're about 50% right but 50% wrong.

There were windows, the officer was outside looking in. He saw it to an extent. All the people who needed to be arrested? They were literally ignoring the other police officers, and walking out/leaving the scene. Completely ignoring commands.

If the big guy was to slow it down and not barge in, he had a short window of maybe 10 more seconds to asses the situation. They were leaving/ditching the place and the situation needed to be under control.

A bit too forceful with the girl, and the trip scares me he could have tazed a random person but for the most part, the situation NEEDED controlling.

Harsh, but about 90% necessary. A little slower and it would have been good execution, but the same mentality and tone was needed. Just slower pace.

Someone probably radioed about officer being involved in an altercation since the female cop was in the middle of it. He came in a bit too hot but If you think about how he entered, he came in from the door, seeing 3-4 people and then several people behind them with 2-3 of his fellow cops in the middle of the crowd. If you think about that moment, as you enter it would look like a 10-12 vs. 2-3 brawl might break out in any moment. Everyone was yelling too. It's easy to sit here and say the situation looked kind of diffused from that certain camera angle and the fact that we saw how the fight started and that it died down, however it's very likely it looked much more serious to the alpha cop.
