Sold my VZ shares awhile back. So much competition right now. Sprints got a great deal going. I think VZ will eventually rebound, especially when their 5g stuff comes out. VZ also has a great div.

You only have 6 months to use all 500 trades, so bear that in mind.
I called them about it since I had over that amount in my portfolio and they said they couldn't give me that offer but did give me 100 free trades with a 1 year expiration date(at the time trades were $8-9 so great savings)keep rep trading out of your sig line

Whats everyone opinion on Tesla? They've unveiled their new Model 3 today. I'm very tempted to get in and long the $hit out of it.
The way I see it: if Tesla bombs on the Model 3, they still have their 'electric 18 wheeler' to fall back on. They still have their solar roofs. They still have their enormous battery manufacturing facilities.
I'm on the fence. I feel like even if Tesla fails miserably within the next 6months, it's a company that will be around for the next 25 years.Mech E. Miscer

Yeah I'm trying to decide if we will still see another leg up if dip buyers go hard once again. Realistically there is nothing to cause a drop sort of too much optimism. I'll stay long on profitable companies, but stick with shorts on the unprofitable. We might see tech unwinding imo. Naturally I'm cool with it
Anyone wanna help me find schitty tech stocks?

There goes gold... A break and close below 1203.6 and it's off to new lows. Currently made a low at 1204.0 a few seconds ago.

certainly like some value stawkkks.. a few retail beat to hell could come back, but overall the prospect of another mega rally looks bleak imo
I could be wrong, but what are the stats of rallying year end when we rallied hard beginning of the year? I think we want a sell off 1st/2nd qtr to rally EOY... When you really in the first half=trouble.
2016 was a prime example

You're right they have batteries/solar/etc to fall back on if their vehicles don't do well. They do have their hands in other things besides cars. But right now they are losing $3 million a month average which the CEO announced. The charging stations aren't everywhere yet either and cost a lot to build. They take 45 minutes to charge the cars too which is pretty bad compared to a few minutes at the gas station.
I wouldn't be surprised if their stock dipped more this summer and even after. But you never know....This particular stock is a very weird one and the shareholders seem to have some godlike confidence which is actually a plus imo right now and obviously has been for the stock. But just like anything we could have a major freakout and selloff. Especially with this company since its been so volatile and the company hasn't been turning a profit yet.
Its a risky one for sure. I remember it was 180 last year and I was going to buy but my pops gave me his opinion so I put more money into AMZN instead.
As far as long term for 5+ years I personally think the stock is a great investment. But that's a long time. And plenty of crazy things can happen in between then which could scare allot of people and bring that stock down drastically. We've seen it happen before so it will probably happen again. I mean it was almost $400 a couple weeks back now its @ 314ish
Out of all the stocks I pay attention to this one is by far the most frustrating for me personally. I would like to get in right now if I had 10k+ to throw w/ out worrying and a few years to sit back. Only selling if it goes above 400 which is a big possibility. But like I said. So volatile, losing 3 million a month and those charging stations need to upgrade.

Meh when don't we have these issues?
As far as tesla goes It was a short at $360-380 now I don't see the value in entering puts at this point. It is sitting in an okay spot for now, but I do think we could see a final $20 drop or so. I'm about to move out of my position since I will be busy the next couple days. Tesla has a lot of moving parts at this point, but I don't think Q2 news will mean anything despite my previous thoughts early this year. The only thing keeping me in my puts is the potential news that there is going to be a delay in the scaling up process which, imo, there will inevitably be. I am hoping to score on the panic that they won't be capable of coming close to their projected numbers. Regardless I think Q3 might be a worse earnings release for them and Q4 could be worse yet as reality sinks in that they can't turn a profit at prices they were "offering"Fitness connoisseur

taxes hugggeee... I know my company is holding off on anything. even a 4% reduction in tax rate will yield millions in savings per year==mega rally. Imagine 15% markets will go to the moon and beyond.
most made it this far so an extra 2-4 months is nothing to save 10s of million

Yes, but I don't think there is discussion about raising tax rates right? So tax reductions would be positive news. I had assumed that was part of your thesis for a dump, but otherwise yeah obviously a tax reduction would be great for markets. Btw why is your company holding off? Are they concerned for a tax rise?

They are expensive unfortunately :/ but it makes sense. I bought some October $15 puts back when SNAP was around $21-$22 or so for $0.90, and now they are like $1.60 or so. It has really high implied volatility. That being said, I still think it is likely to continue downward quite a bit. Could easily be like $12 or lower by October. This company is so absurdly overvalued.
