Around 26-27%.
Remember weight loss is caused by eating less read the losing fat stickies for more information.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I tend to agree with your estimation based on other photos I have seen. This has been a real eye opener for me.
Excellent point regarding food intake as I did not mention that in my original post. For any of this to work I need to remember that as being top priority.
Looking forward to trying to become part of the community around here.

And we look forward to hearing from you always good to have more contributions on this forum. Just remember everyone start somewhere, if you follow good advice such as the stickies and implement them into your lifestyle you will make massive changes in your life.
Remember though you didn't gain fat over a short period of time (nor did anyone else) so don't expect to lose it quickly it takes time and dedication. And then you have to build muscle which is even slower....

As for your requests I think you have asked about 6/7 times either should I cut/ bulk or what is bf% with the same pics.
You need to pick one way or the other. I recommend cutting as do most people I believe

Can you guess my bf %?
Two pics from a few days ago. 6ft, 179lbs.
I unfortunately store mostly in my stomach. My chest skin fold is around 3-4mm, thigh fold is 6mm and stomach is around 8.5mm (was 14mm when I started my cut).
People say you need under 6mm for very visible abs so I'm close. With 2 more weeks of cutting where would I be in bf%?

About 14% depends if you mean some abs (most likely top two) possibly if you mean full six no, most males need to be below 10% to see that unless they have large abdominal muscles.[/QUOTE]
Funny thing is I got a bod pod done the other day, January 20th and it said I was 11.5%, and in body bia test done (gym I work at let's employees do them for free, in body isnt as accurate tho) and it said 10.9%.
Not trying to undermine you but I know for a fact I'm not 14%, especially considering I saw you give someone the other day 14% that had no chest striations, no visible ribs, no ab visibility and no shoulder striations.
I'll rep you tho,
Can someone else give a opinion?Chasing the pump
Barbell Squat- 470 1rm
Barbell Bench- 325 1rm
Weighted pullups- 100lbs 4-reps
178lbs, 12% body fat

Fair enough but you aren't 11%. Bod pod are unreliable but then again either are my estimates reliable no bf% test is.
Here is a review of bod pods for you:-
https://weightology.net/the-pitfalls...art-3-bod-pod/
That is because they are skinnier then you but also lack muscle therefore technically balances itself out one 14% looks different to another.
You are entitled completely to opinion and I encourage more opinions however in my photo I am about 12% therefore you aren't 11% in my opinion.
Here is a very basic scale to measure against as well if it helps you or anyone else:-

I'm curious to what you look at. Do you only look at abs? Because from your picture in your bio I would guess you at 11 only from abs, but here's the thing; theres nothing else to go off of other than your stomach. You can't judge strictly off of stomach only. Your chest isnt showing, neither is your arms.
If I tell you my ab skinfold is 8.5mm (I dont have much ab mass), my chest is 3-4mm and thigh is 6mm then that cannot be anywhere near 14%. I've done soooooo many body measurements and never have I seen someone 14% with under 8mm thigh fold or under 10mm ab fold.
All I'm saying is you can't look at one part and judge solely off of that. As you can see i obviously have solid chest popping out, my abs are clearly lacking in mass. I dont think I'm under 11% by any means. I appreciate any input but I'm mostly curious to what you look at because it seems you look only at abs.

I'm in no way ripping on you or trying to start an argument. As you say any test isnt completely accurate.
I posted one other time like 1.5 years ago and like 4 people said I was 13% with less rib & ab visibility and no chest striations. Skinfold measurements matter too. I take lose folds with as big of a pinch of fat as I can grab.

No problem although I will keep it brief as this is for bf% estimate not discussing in depth body fat analysis measuring methods.
Whenever I do a estimate I do the following:-
- Judge the muscle to fat ratio based on how much muscle is noticeable
- Look for aspects of leanness such as definition in shoulder, ribs, hips, and of course the abs. Vascularity can help but generally in areas where activation is low therefore its not influenced by muscle size aka the groin.
- In the majority of individuals especially males abs being shown is the final level of leanness before we get to seeing striation as males store most of their fat there.
- I then look at pictures of individuals who have had either dexa scans on the web showing their fat % and then consider the possible flaws in this test by looking at multiple individuals to give an visual estimate.
- I also use two website to guess a percentage and see if my visual guess is close I have enclose the links
http://truth-dealer.com/physiology/f...weight-03.html
https://www.mytecbits.com/tools/medical/bfpcalculator
Now I make sure I have guessed in my head based on my previous knowledge and estimates from a previous poster on body fat percentage who she was remarkable good at guessing then compare my guess to the pics and calculated result then judge accordingly.
Of course none of these methods are 100% but if I am close to these numbers then I know I must be in the right area. After that it is just my visual consideration which again is no where near 100%.
Body fat% are generally just useless numbers that either are used for vanity reasons or are there to give someone a point to start from to see if their visual appearance has changed or not through their hard-work.
Again my estimates are the best I can do with the tools I have and with my limited knowledge (I have worked with calipers, bod pod and water weight on a couple national athletes and local athletes at Uni but again I am certainly no expert). I would encourage others to estimate (including yourself) as if similar numbers reappear then the estimate must be close. I hope that helps.

Of course no offence is taken one bit I am happy to be questioned and I will try and explain my estimate.
As for your previous request on bf% estimates you were 2lbs lighter and got estimated around 13-15% although you have grown by a inch. I also compare old pics if the poster has limited posts to search for old bf requests.
