Any point go counting steps? I get 20,000-30,000 steps a day. Any good come from that? I have had some family members say that is bad for my health. Is it? I get a lot of blisters.

Some may say it's excessive but it's surely a lot healthier than sitting on the couch or in the office all day.

P3dometers are great if you're trying to track your daily activity and you're working on gradually progressing. Regarding the blisters though, I would see a podiatrist to see what's causing them, and to get recommendations on footwear or insoles. You may just need a better shoe for walking/running.

Back to the OP - if you are doing a good gym routine at least 2-3 times a week, you don't need all that walking. It's a crude rule of thumb to make lazy people less unfit and chubby. There are more productive forms of exercise like lifting weights, cycling, rowing etc.
