Bugs Iv experienced so far in the 40 hours of game play.

Drack, double drack during a dialogue scene(one time so far)

Peebee leaning over like shes on a railing but shes not(one time so far)

talking with veta, I got teleported to another room with her right when we started talking(one time so far)

Get caught on an odd piece of terrain and instead of running, my feet drag like Im levitating(happened maybe 5-6 times)

Jaal died on the field and I couldnt res him. I went back to the ship and he was just floating around twitching. Save my game, closed ME, came back, and it was fixed.(one time so far)

Face textures slowly popping in as Im talking with them (happens all the time)

when landing on Havarl, during the landing sequence, the cinematic flickers from normal to a yellow and red shade.

Seem to be addressing most of the issues i had with this game, but the biggest thing for me is skipping the autopilot sequences. Those long boring sequences were the sole reason i haven't done NG+.

nah, you go back and forth...I spent at least 6 hours there and I still have things to do.

There were some dinosaur looking creatures, thought it was pretty neat for them to pop out like that.. I wonder, why they fade when you kill em? it's weird but mass effect has always opened my mind more to possibilities of life out there. Maybe in that planet once the organism is dead, the air they breathe reacts with the deceased body and disintegrates it.

The last mission and the lead up right upto where you meet the final baddie was just pure hype and done incredibly well and a high point that took me back to the previous mass effects. If only the rest of the missions had as much time and energy invested into it. The boss itself was rather boring and the way everything wrapped up was just alright.

I am quite disappointed with the length of the main game, I think this might be the shortest mass effect main mission campaign. The whole main mission just feels incredibly rushed, I swear it must be like 6-8 hours long in total. That said I did put 65 hours total into the game.

Still waiting on more patches before jumping aboard, but at the same time, it's a little disconcerting that such simple yet egregious design... decisions(?) were allowed to slip through release. If they were so quickly remedied, was it really worth pushing the game a matter of days earlier to a cavalcade of criticism? People were already targeting the poor animations yonks ago, Bioware said they would be addressed, and then they still put out rubbish?

In the meantime, I recently started watching The Expanse (Included with Amazon Prime), and I would highly recommend it to ME fans. It might be enough to help those with Andromeda better overlook the flaws and appreciate the science fiction setting instead; I'm not even a big fan of sci-fi (or SyFy), but this show has me really wanting to give the original trilogy a playthrough now.

I wish more games that aren't your traditional RPGs or action titles would eschew the single big bad boss battles entirely in favor of a more creative way to conclude the game. Perhaps taking queues from what TV shows do instead of movies, where they might end on the crux of a final "event" as opposed to a more "Marvel" approach that are essentially just the lamest video game boss battles in movie forms. Maybe escalate the end scenario to a final battle, complete with decisive factors that change the outcome entirely - effectively transitioning the dialogue choices towards truly active ones.

What better way than to push the importance of your decisions than to allow you to approach the end game in ways that can cement your character's persona? For example, and this is completely unrelated to the actual ME:A ending, would be a divergence of strategic options:
Maybe one strains your faction ties by imposing allies to aid you, then you can further stretch them by using them as a distraction or keep them in a safer position.
Or another option puts you front and center, placating allies.
Perhaps the whole end event could put civilians at risk, whom you could be willing to sacrifice or you sacrifice your crew's safety instead.

So on and so forth, but maybe leading up to an end confrontation with the enemy leader, although even that could offer different approaches. After all, it isn't unheard of for people to do "pacifist runs," so offering the ability to subdue the leader instead of outright killing them would be a nice touch.

More to your general point, though, Andromeda comes off extremely rushed, and after learning that this was not "Bioware," but Bioware Montreal*, I find it hard to shake that this was a in all reality just a side-project under the guise of a premier studio. It's a bit like the Arkham Origins game, except it was publicly understood to be developed by a different studio well before the game was even out. Here, Bioware's name is plastered all over the place, like a venue advertising a huge name coming for a live show, only to put "cover band" in micro-font underneath. Even if it turns out to be an overall good cover, the whole thing leaves a bad taste nonetheless, and really makes me at least wonder how the real performer would have done instead.

*WTF is up with Montreal and shoddy games, between this and Ubisoft? I guess if Montreal is like the discount-Paris, you end up with discount-quality games? Who bloody knows...

The changes to the eyes is a world of difference. Including the animations to that scene. I just wonder how many scenes they've touched up though in a game as massive as this, obviously they were gonna change the My Face is Tired scene because it's now infamous. Which makes me wonder if they have been working on these fixes for a while now but as you said, just released the game early to be picked apart for its lack of polish for no other reason than to make some financial fiscal year .. Which really doesnt make sense to me from a business perspective because wouldnt a delayed / polished game that ends up reviewing well make them more sales ... Because I'm sure there must have been cancelled pre-orders after the scores / free trial.

^ Mass Effect's 2's final suicide mission was quite a lot like what you described except it had the stupid boss battle at the end, but that particular mission is probably one of my favorite pieces of gaming, utilising your squad mates to different roles and you picked the best one for a particular role. It made you think, it was thrilling and kept you on the edge of your seat and made you question whether what you were doing was the right thing or not ... I really wish more games or future games had expanded on it.


You really do need to play the original mass effect games lol, you missed out on some great games of the previous gen... Dont worry about the shoddy ending, just enjoy the journey upto the ending lol.

Yep, some pretty shady chit with that whole brand new bioware studio and team c members doing this game. EA and Bioware as a whole have truly done a massive fuk job in regards to this game. I wonder if we'll ever get a sequel considering EA is forcing Bioware to make Destiny's rival and dragon age": inquisition sequel.

Also Arkham Origins was legit good and worthy of the Arkham name imo .. It had a great story, the boss battles were amazing, but it just lacked the polish and presentation of Rocksteady.

Not immersive for them to do so but I think its to help players hardware, since the game is pretty heavy in terms of VFX, meshes, and texture sizes. I cant imagine how much my PC would slow if there were 40 dead creatures on the ground. PS4 is locked to 30 fps and has a few dips. Just imagine if the dead bodies didnt fade out.

not really but I did feel there was a tendency towards having female taking the leader roles. Most important figure or faction leader u come across turns out to be females lol, but honestly there is no ovious SJW bs, Im quite glad they decided to have female characters for every race now. Oh and you squad sticks with u no matter what.

My real complaint is the abundance of down time in the game. So much dialogue and traveling to here and there for just a few minutes of action.

Down time is perfectly fine, I love dialogue exchances, but 100% agreed with travelling here and there just for a single cutscene that adds nothing except as an artificial way to just pad the game for no reason ... We dont have cellphones in the future? we cant read out emails outside of the ship?


Just wait till you get to kadara port and do the missions there ..... My god, its literally travelling up and down from ship to kadara port to the free roam area just to get a single cutscene that advances the story. it's riddiculous... Add that along with the loading times for each section and it's infuriating.

can confirm, from ending my first playthrough at 93% completion rate (pretty every side quests excluding tasks) I got so irritated at quests that made you travel to different areas or planets just to chat with one npc to advance the quest. You guys are lucky to be playing the game after the new patch, atleast you can skip the stupid flying animation.
