All you fukkers quoting lebowski when none of you put it on your favorite movies list gtfo
Conceal carry class day 1 starts Thursday, same day as my VP9 holster. Was pretty excited until I remembered IL takes up to 3 months to issue it after you submit the forms....ridiculous.
On a bad note, screwed up vacation plans I mentioned in my last post. Forgot I have a tournament to play in that Saturday. This after wife was already all in and got the days off work. She is rightfully pissed at me, but damn she is taking it personal...and she's never that way. Tried to come up with some ideas but it isn't working...I really suck at planning around schedules*Only drive manual crew*

Despite gun sales reaching record numbers in the last two years, accidental gun shootings are at an all-time low, a surprising finding by the National Safety Council.
In its annual "Injury Facts" report, the group put accidental gun deaths in 2015 at 489.
That is the lowest since 1903, when record-keeping began and a 17 percent one-year drop.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*

Try the full 120 days unless you do the digital prints for $50 then it's 90 days lol...
I hope your instructor is a good one. I lucked out with a family friend on price and actual instruction. As I mentioned a few days ago my instructor went over some defensive drills after our normal BS qualification. Good instructor/10

If you're looking for something purely for warmth and when you won't be running around, don't get some bullchit tactical gloves. Get some liners. I like these Outdoor Research gloves and use them when mountaineering: https://www.outdoorresearch.com/en/m...or-gloves.html Bonus is the index and thumb are touch screen compatible. These will keep your hands much warmer than any tactical type glove, but offer the same dexterity.
How long do you stay under? Sounds so fukin gay lol

I did check ahead, but didn't have the tournament in my schedule...stupid I know.
I am hoping my instructor is good. Doubt we do defensive stuff, but can always sign up for more training from someone later. Will have plenty of time to train in that LONG wait period*Only drive manual crew*

Yeah life is good. Got a two-nager who can be the devil and the sweetest little girl at the same time. New essentially daily cannon is a G21, srs carry it almost exclusively lol. Getting to the point that I don't care if I print or who sees it, I'll still carry the g26 but not nearly as often with the cold weather

My kids are both pretty musically inclined. Both love to sing and were in in choir in middle school and have done some summer musical productions . . . neither one wants to have anything to do with the choir in HS. Which is odd, because the choir is damn good. They have some pre-conceived dislike for the teacher--who they have never spent any time with personally. And they aren't listening to me about trying it and making up their own minds rather than listening to a couple of their friends who washed out. Hoping they come around but I'm not putting any more effort into that one.
My son is getting pretty good with the piano. My daughter has had an acoustic for about a year and is taking guitar at the HS, so she's getting some of the basics down. Figured when she showed interest in the electric that I could get her something to play around with. Nothing special. Knock-off telecaster and a Fender Mustang amp. Will be good for starters. She plugged it in last night and jumped right into the riff from Smells Like Teen Spirit, LOL.
I was always interested in guitar but never really got serious about it. Still might give it a shot at some point. I played sax for years . . . alto, tenor, baritone, then back to tenor. Dropped it in HS due to sports and just getting burned out on it. Might pick up a used sax somewhere down the road for kicks again.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*

Nice. My mom plays piano, guitar.....pretty much competent on any stringed instrument. I grew up playing the stand up bass and picked up the guitar in high school. My youngest boy recently became interested in the guitar, so we've been doing that. The other two have zero interest.
BTW, I bought a bass guitar a few weeks ago and have been messing with that.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*

Sports was the thing that largely killed it for me. I wrestled and did gymnastics and the gymnastics just took up a huge amount of time if you wanted to get any good at it. But the band at my HS was really good (always in the top 5 for marching band in the state) and the conductor and the kids were all super serious and competitive about it. I just enjoyed playing sax . . . and that was about it. So it just kind of wore on me and burned me out. I could play the music as good as anyone, but didn't want to spend much time on the small crap.
Had a bit of a fall-out with the conductor, too. He didn't appreciate that I wouldn't practice scales and stuff for hours on end and I never wanted to play in the pep band at events (which was "voluntary"). One day he was trying to give me a hard time about it and informed me that I wasn't going to get my band letter if I didn't show up for at least one event. I laughed right in his face and told him I didn't care . . . I had lettered in wrestling and gymnastics already. Who the phukk cares about a band letter. That sort of was the nail in the coffin and I just didn't sign up for his classes after that.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*
