good afternoon guys,
1.) where do you guys tend to get your .223 ammo from? Also, can someone please help me out with figuring out whether or not tulammo is steel cored? I know it is steel cased, but steel core is the thing ranges around me do not allow.
2.) is there a certain time of the year besides holidays that ammo tends to run cheaper? I need to start learning and paying attention to these things..
3.) Folding sights for an AR-15? ones that I can mount on this aero from brownells: http://www.brownells.com/firearms/ri...38-174289.aspx
I got a magpul MOE SK set from brownells as well
Purpose for AR is range time, so I don't know about a scope (best for hunting right?), preferably regular folding sights“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” - Benjamin Franklin

Ammo is about as cheap as it gets right now, check Sgammo.com. Also, Magpul MBUS flip up sights or MBUS Pro's are gonna be good for what you are looking to do. Although I dont think that Magpul handguard you bought is going to work on the AERO rifle you bought. Your rifle doesn't have a front sight base that the handguard needs. Thats why a few people just told you to get some kind of freefloat handguard, like an Aero

Did you get the SK handguard? That's made for use with the A2 front sight (that triangle towards the front of the gun) which that Aero you posted doesn't have. You need a free floated handguard with a rail on top or something so you can add the front sight post to it. The magpul handguard isn't as good as a free floated handguard anyways.
Longer distance shooting is really fun, you can get a cheap red dot and magnifier for pretty cheap. Don't have to be a sniper but it's fun to shoot chit farther out."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

Totally depends on ur range. I can go maximum 100 yards, and can only shoot paper targets at my range. Maybe i just suck but shooting quarter size groups with an AR at 100 yds with a red dot, is not easy or fun. More fun to put it at 25-50 yards and blast away a few mags standing up or something.
If its gonna be just a range toy, id definitely put a cheap-ish scope on it.Are you not entertained?

AR10s can be finicky. I'd stick with 223 unless you have a specific reason for a semi auto 308. And in that case I'd go SR25 or SCAR17. More expensive obviously but you know they'll work. And if you can afford to shoot 308 on the reg you can afford one of those.

You should try the DA on the p30 V3 way heavier and worse overall. I bought it without trying the trigger had only glocks and 1911 before then so thought trigger would be similar but was wrong. The USP felt great compared to that anyway changed the hammer spring and FPBS on the p30 and it improved alot recently changed the hammer spring on the USP and it definitely improved it. You can also change the FPBS to a light one if your usp has the new style FPB guessing that'd help too.

Make sure to test reliability though you might have light primer strikes if you go too light on the hammer spring

I like my DDv7 but Daniel had no business putting out a complete 308. Same for Seekins.
My DPMS pattern 308s took some tinkering just like all builds but they all run fine on a variety of ammo.
