Curious about this. Seems like a lot of people are content just scraping by and getting through life. They may seem or say they're content on the surface but god damn, deep down it has to eat at you.
I was having a discussion with my room mate about our differences and what we want out of life and I said something along the lines of 'look, we're just fundamentally different. You want to just get by and I'm trying to pursue all my wildest dreams' and he said 'No that's wrong. I want so many things for myself'. I ask him what he wanted out of life and he responded with 'Well, I want to have food, water, and shelter over my head every day'. So... what you want out of life is exactly what you have now? Wtf? That's wanting so many things for yourself?
I just do not understand people like that. And the thing is my room mate seems to be the average person. They've told themselves they can't possibly be successful/wealthy and get everything they want out of life.
You get ONE life people. You are only on this rock for a limited number of orbits around the sun and then you're gone. For all we know, this is ALL that we get. Why the **** would you not spend every waking moment working towards getting whatever it is you want? How are there so many people that are content sitting on the couch drinking beer watching TV 4/5/6/7/8/10/12 hours/day? How are so many young people so fukkin apathetic and only want to smoke pot and play video games and scrape by? This is ALL you fukkin get! THIS IT IT!!! Then it's lights fukkin out for all we know.
Do you really want to spend 96000 hours +/- showing up to a job you fukkin hate, to one day retire in a ****ty condo in Florida, just waiting around hoping that your ****ty kids that are waiting for you to die will come visit? Is that really all there fukkin is? NO. Go sail the fukkin planet. Go fukk exotic women in exotic locations all around the world. Pursue something that puts fire in your soul. Go do blow off a dime hookers ******* driving down the vegas strip in a bentley. Get yourself in dangerous situations; run away from tribesman in the heart of Africa, surf big waves that could crush, jump off a fukkin cliff in a wingsuit!! Wtf is wrong with people?!?!?!?!
Cliffs:
-TS is confused why hundreds of millions of people waste their lives watching TV doing meaningless chit
-You only get 80 +/- rotations around the sun
-Fukk spending 96000 +/- hours at a chit job(s)
-GO FUKKING GET WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE

In all fairness, somebody more successful than you could say the exact same thing about you.
Fun fact by the way: successful people were bred and trained from birth to become successful. There's no late starts to this chit. If you weren't killing it in school and killing it in your career from 23 years old your chances of success are slim to none.
And before you start rattling out the names of ten dropouts who became successful, ask yourself why you know their names in the firsts place (hint: it's not because they're the norm)."Suicide carried off many. Drink and the devil took care of the rest."

Because the only alternative to sailing around the fukkin world is to sit on your couch
You just mad because you spent so long typing this crappy thread out with the limited brain function you still have from being dropped on your head on the mat all the time or beaten up by waves, copy and pasted a bunch of photoshopped photographs with your dick in your hand thinking you're unique in any way and people trouncing all over you and your terrible tatts real talkIf I laugh, I rep

The quick answer is because doing nothing is easier then trying to do something and failing.
I've handed things to people on a plate, where I've done all the work and I would still get a "no thanks"
Thats just life, most people are just going to be fillers, but you know, they are relatively happy. Not everyone seeks to climb to the top, because it is too much work and too much risk.Living a happy life

Finish education in law. Continue building my blog/youtube/instagram for mobile income. Work in law for 15 years in a specialization I enjoy doing and feel passionate about, traveling whenever I can in style. Start buying quadplexes/apartments, tenants pay off mortage in 5-8 years. From there either expand by buying more real estate, or just start living my dreams with passive income from rent + mobile income. Maybe there will be breakthroughs/luck along the way the lead to my career or blog blowing up and get super wealthy. Won't happen if I never try.

Somebody more successful than me could say what about me? I'm not wasting my time and my life. I'm pursuing everything I want and there's nothing to hate on with that.
And your statement that there's no late starts is bullllll****ttttt and tells me you have no idea what you're talking about. 66% of the millionaires now are new money. They weren't bred from birth for success. So many successful/wealthy people did not become wealthy until mid/late life.

But you are wasting your life..... why go do the things you want to do when I want to do the things I want to do? I'm not wasting my life. What if I choose to scrape by, watch tv and drink beer? That's my prerogative... isn't it? What are you? Shia Labeouf 2.0 up in here.
P.S. I could travel the world without a dime in my pocket.. and still have the experience of a life time.. grow the fuk up boyo.:D

Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

OP that all sounds great, but everything you are describing requires MONEY. You know what the vast majority don't have? MONEY. It's as simple as that. Not everyone has what it takes or the desire to make the amount of money it requires it get to where you're describing.
I commend you for having a plan to get there, but let me ask you this: Don't you think there are a ton of other people in their twenties with these exact wild dreams you have? Don't you think they all think, "Oh I'm never gonna settle, I'm gonna work (10-15) years, get into (insert investments), and retire and live like (what OP describes)." You know what usually happens? Life gets in the way. Investments fail, they fall in love and get married, etc.
On top of that, as amazing as travel is, and as amazing as living the "live fast, die young" lifestyle would be, it boils down to another simple fact: Most people don't want to spend their lives alone. Which could be the case with you OP. You could make it and surf big waves, and skydive, and run through forests, and wake up and ask yourself, "What for?" If you don't have people you love around you, what's the point? Srs point OP.

You're conflating the argument and making it more specific than it is.
I'm not hating on people wanting to pursue their own specific interests. I'm asking why people waste their lives NOT pursuing their interests. Succesful people don't hate on hard workers pursuing their dreams. They hate on lazy, whiny morons complaining about how hard life is when they never do anything to make it better.

I hear you, I just don't see why they have to be mutually exclusive? Why does pursuing your dreams, and traveling the world mean you'll be alone? I could meet a down ass girl in Ireland, or Belize, or Cancun, or Germany, or Australia or New Zealand that wants to come along and pursue all these things with me. That's down to travel the world and go on amazing adventures. That would honestly be the most ideal for what I want in life.
To answer your first question: yes, a lot of young people have these dreams but never actually take concrete steps towards achieving them. They search for the path of least resistance. They want life on easy mode while simultaneously telling themselves "well one day...." then 'one day' comes and it's them dying on a bed surrounded by their kids and family.

If you do, more power to you. All I'm saying is everything you're describing sounds like stuff you want to do in your twenties. By the time you've worked hard and made enough money to get to this level, let's say around 40, I think most people would rather have a nice steak and lobster dinner and watch a sunset on the beach with whoever they love than run through a rainforest. That's why so many people in their twenties are choosing to use the little money they make now to travel, so they can get these kind of experiences, which I think is more realistic than your plan above to work for years and then do all this thriller daredevil chit.

I'm not successful, and I'm not hating on people that aren't as successful as my (non) success. I'm hating on people that act like life isn't short, and like they don't have a limited amount of time being conscious on this planet, and sit around wasting their time with fruitless and unrewarding activities such as drinking beer and watching sports, getting high and playing video games for hours and hours every single day. I enjoy both of those things. They're a great way to decompress; but only in small doses because your brain/body don't need 4-8 hours/day 7 days/week of decompression.
