Cooked some Alaskan Pollock last night.
My wife does Yoga 'n chit at about the time I eat so I'd ate my dinner before her.
When she came down to eat she started pulling these long, stringy things out of the fish, and refused to eat it.
I just told her to STFU, it's just 'sinew' or veins.
Then I read this:
http://www.seafoodhealthfacts.org/se...pics/parasitesAll living organisms, including fish, can have parasites. Parasites are a natural occurrence, not contamination. They are as common in fish as insects are in fruits and vegetables. Parasites do not present a health concern in thoroughly cooked fish.

From looking around on the internet, most, if not all, fish carry these things.

No doubt! I used to have folks wanting refunds on all sorts of fish at the fish market when I was there full time in the retail! It was crazy! But most people are pretty receptive to things that just occur naturally.03-14-2012, 08:57 AM
In Alaska I remove about a poound of these 2 foot long worms from the belly of every Silver that hits the cleaning table. It looks like a bowl of Spagetti when you pile them all up. They sit there and move around on the bench, it's gross, but they are not bad for you.
Spoiler!

Ex muslim checking that decided to shove all religion up my asss..
You say Islam Forbids Pig products but you and every other muslim eatting cake, icecream and anything YUMMY that contains GELATINE. It is the main ingredient for all lollies, icecream, cake, anything nice and sweet, anything considered a dessert.
This is how it starts.. Endless amounts of pig heads, legs, toes etc all off cuts
Then it turns into this and it is sold
Once you have these thin layers of gelatine, you mix them with warm water and it dissolves and is added to the mixture..
I FUKING KNOW BECAUSE I MADE THESE AND SAW HIJAB WHORES EAT IT UP WHEN I MADE CAKES OUT OF THEM SO STFU

Fisheries Officer checking in
I don't eat fish, but fish is like livestock. As a consumer, you should have at least a vague understanding of where it comes from. And know packaging laws.
I gagg at most fish. But anything caught with traps is generally low by catch, but not always fresh.
Parasites are common as fuark. I've seen marlin with gouges of pink in their skin.
Nek minit...worse things happen at sea
