Been there OP, you will get through it.
Dont let the people get you down either. Its definitely a bad thing to do and am not defending it at all, but some people really get carried away with the whole acting like it makes you the biggest piece of shyt ever.

Bro I know it does. I suffer depression and have all my life. Not to sound like a beta **** but I'd drink and just start sobbing thinking of family and stupid chit like when my loved ones would die. I was doing that at 23 24 25.
Depression is a demon. Its awful. I've never been on meds for it but I made an appointment to try some. It has to be a better alternative than drinking .

Fixed that for you. I'm not going to shame the OP any more than anyone already has. Opie knows he ****ed up and he'll be facing the consequences of his actions. But drinking and driving is irresponsible and a DUI is the result of that irresponsibility. Plenty of people drink and don't get a DUI/DWI.

I just recently got on meds and it is helping a lot. I am coming out of a relationship that ended badly too and drinking played a role in that relationship turning sour. I would depend on my ex to take care of me when we'd go out drinking and now I'm left to take care of myself, but with no control and the feelings I have I am finding it harder than ever lately.

Ahh he won't face any consequences. Not this time if it was his first. Pay a fine do a class. Always remember guys the law is generally fair with people who are deserving of it and will give you second chances on many things nbut also keep in mind they are going to treat you the way your behavior and actions are indicitve of treating you. If you behave like a low life scum bag who isn't deserving of a second chance then guess what..he or she isn't going to waste their kindness understanding on you. Don't matter if its the policeman who locked you up the prosecutor or the judge. If you are a good person and made a small mistake and no one got hurt then odds are you will be treated accordingly. Most people who get harsh sentences or get treated like chit from the !aw deserve it and bring it on them selves.

I've been there too. Was engaged four years. She took care of me. Drove me home when I was drunk. Took care of me when I was falling down drunk and couldn't stand. The booze ruined that. A good woman will reach out to help but she's not going oo wait around forever for us to change. Cause a good woman knows her worth and her value oin society cause they are such a rare find.
You are learning a lot earlier then I did bro. Take these valuable life lessons and put them to use.
What meds did they put yoiu on by The way?

This. If you did it last night that means you have probably done it before and just never got caught. Weird to me that people know that they can easily kill others and themselves and still choose to do it. There is a reason new years eve is the night you are statistically most likely to die, and it is because people like OP.535 deadlift.

Truth be told, the two biggest profiteers to DUI arrests are lawyers and those substance abuse places that the state makes you go to for an evaluation to see exactly how much of an addict you are plus the x-amount of hours they will require you to do based on their own evaluations before you can apply to get your license reinstated. The state makes it profits by making other traffic related ordinance violations, i.e. seatbelt violations, taillight violations, license plate violations. They're able to make these stops to issue the citations under the guise of having DUI stops and the infamous, unconstitutional checkpoints. But you are correct that the stops are more about the money than public safety.
