Very small town (/school) in western North Carolina.. It was back in like 2003 or 2004. I doubt they would allow it now lol. Also that school is one of the very few that still uses paddling for punishment in NC..

When I was in the school cadets playing soldiers (age 16 Extra curricular don't know what it's called in 'Merica) we were at a small pistol range, think they were .22s or something, but the class dipstick next to me decided he was Dirty Harry and started pointing the gun down at the ground before attempting to raise it slowly..... It went off while pointed at his foot, missed by three inches. Teacher went slightly bananas.

Most likely a ricochet. I've been shooting since I was 7 and have seen it happen. The worst instance a fragment from a .308 went in through the eye socket and lodged in the back of the skull. The guy got lucky and only had some mild nerve damage.

If you mean a hangfire you're supposed to keep the barrel pointed downrange for a couple minutes at least. Either way this is why I dont like going to a range with cilvilans. Last one I was at there were a bunch of guys flagging the sh!t outta people with their shotguns.

I went to a gun range in a local community hall years ago with a friend, i made him shoulder a double barrelled shotgun and explained what to do. I stood back and told him to pull the trigger.... guess what he did?


He dropped it from his shoulder and fired it from his hip like this



The first shot hit a light in the ceiling and blew it to pieces. He says "Holy Chit LOL" and as he turns around to me he unloads the other barrel without realising it straight through a door to the left of us.

Inside the room of the door there were people having a meeting and thankfully nobody got hurt.

When i asked him why the fuc he fired it from the hip he said "i dunno! I just always wanted to fire a gun like in the movies"

Each lane has dirt berms between them and an impact berm in the back. Basically I see two possibilities here: either she was out in the lane, maybe setting up a target or something, and someone's gun went off--meaning she was accidentally shot by someone in her lane, aka a friend/family member. Or, second possibility, she wasn't in the lane at all. She could have been behind the firing area and somehow someone's weapon from a different lane discharged when it wasn't pointed downrange.

Whole situation is fishy as fuk.
