Swapping between strength training and hypertrophy.

Hi I'm currently doing the ICF workout and have been for a few weeks. I'm struggling to progress on my triceps and biceps with the dips and curls. I was wondering if it would be alright for me me to do 5x5 for dips one day, and the next workout do 4x8-10 dips and keep repeating that. Would that be fine or do I need to set 1 goal?

Normally I wouldn't advise messing with an established program, but for something like adjusting the rep range on an assistance lift, it should be fine.
