    Max OT?

    Hi all,

Been following an upper lower split for a few months (lyle mcdonalds generic bulking routine) and am now having a well earned xmas break.

I've been considering switching to a new program when i start back on Monday and have been reading about Max OT.

I've never come across it before but most reviews seem to hail it as the best thing since sliced bread bit there's very little mention of it ever after about 2010.

Is it a good routine and if so, why does no one seemore to talk about it anymore?

My main goal is hypertrophy but the reduced workout times and heavy intense workouts are appealing to me...

    Cheers all

I haven't run it myself, but everyone I know who's done it loves it. IDK if any one training style can be "the absolute best," but if it looks appealing to you, then why not give it a go and see what happens?

    Hi mate,

Thanks for the reply. Definitely fancy giving it a go, I just thought was odd that a program (well, more of a training method) which was so popular from the early 2000's up to around 2010 barely gets mentioned anymore.

I've been training and visiting this forum for couple of years and don't recall ever coming across it before.

Do you know what sort of results your friends got from it? Was it mainly strength or hypertrophy or a good mix of both?

I would say a mix of both, but hypertrophy was the primary goal for them.

It's just a bro split which hits each muscle once a week, and uses 4-6 reps on everything except abs, (so skullcrushers, lateral raises, rear delts, curls, etc), hits chest, back and legs with 9 sets a week and shoulders and arms with 6 sets a week. I wouldn't pay it much attention.

The good reviews were just marketing. There's good reason nobody does it anymore.

    Hi mate,

Thanks for the reply. Can't say I agree with what you say though. Are you suggesting that the maker(s) of the program set up hundreds, maybe thousands of fake accounts on forums like this to leave positive reviews of their program? Are you suggesting that partyrocking (who has commented above) is working for them too?

I know it's set up like a bro split, I've read the program. I'm looking for feedback from people who have experience of Max OT, not just knee jerk dismissals because it looks like a bro split.
