Finally have a president that's actually not zucking the dink of the military industrial complex by supporting wasteful programs.
F-35 program has been in the works for over 15 year, has cost billions and slated to cost over $1 trillion and they still can't figure out how to get the plane to function properly.
Update:
Lockheed CEO has now decided she wants to play ball, and all of at the sudden they're able to "drive the cost down aggressively"

Trump tweeted about Boeing charging way too much for the $4 billion dollar Air Force One contract a week ago or so, and Boeing immediately played ball and said they would look at ways to cut costs.
He had an earlier tweet about the F-35 program being too expensive, and Lockheed put out some generic corporate bull**** response about how the F-35 is great technology and how the US govt can save money if they buy F-35's in greater numbers lol.I wish Hillary would violate me like she violated federal law

And the liberals on twitter are still finding something to be pissed about.
I thought liberals hated excessive military spending?
He comes out talking about looking for cheaper alternatives to one of the military's biggest money holes and they're still somehow butthurt about it.I wish Hillary would violate me like she violated federal law

The thing is, this program has been going on and on for the last 15+ years. It's so behind schedule and incomplete, it's not even funny. Just a massive clusterfuk.
How long are we going to throw good money after bad into this corporate welfare program, hoping it finally pays off.
Maybe Lockheed and the various contractors will suddenly get their chit together now that Trump just lit a fire under their ass.
I'll admit that the DOD has been so indecisive on what they want and constantly change up the requirements, but still. This program is a huge cluster that needs to be either squared away ASAP or scrapped to stop wasting money.I wish Hillary would violate me like she violated federal law

I love how he tweets and hope he continues to during his presidency. Dude is a genius in some aspects. He is smart enough to know social media is an easy and effective way to reach the masses. Seems like he is doing the tweeting himself too not some publicist. Politicians are so out of touch with the common person that a billionaire tycoon is more relatable somehow. Also love how he throws out feeler statements and other countries, corporations, leaders, etc immediately respond back saying they are willing to negotiate. Dude is showing better diplomacy than obama and he isn't even in office yet.

This is what it looks like when an actual businessman is president.
Textbook art of the deal
Trump probably doesn't WANT the Super Hornet. He's giving the Lockheed executives something to think about. He made a single tweet about the F35 and it spooked the stockholders.
One of the first steps toward negotiating a better deal is to make them think you're going to walk away altogether if they don't come up with a more attractive offer.
The F-35 has been one of the chittiest deals in US history, and it needs to either get a whole lot better, or replaced.I wish Hillary would violate me like she violated federal law

I never really noticed the media bias until this election cycle. They would criticize everything about trump even things not related to politics like his hair piece, tan, personal mannerism, etc. Meanwhile not a single mention of the clinton's scandals were brought up. Didn't the director of the fbi basically imply that if a normal person did what hilary did they would be rotting in prison for life. Not to mention all the ties to corruption.

But isn't the f-18 still one of the most capable multi role fighter jets around. Like it still out performs all the other, newer alternatives. Just like how the a10 still is the best close air support jet decades later even though several attempts have been made to phase it out. Read something about how top generals make their name/careers by introducing a new weapons platform that is why all these new unnecessary military projects are started.

Good. Screw the F-35. Give me an A-10 and a F-18 anyday. No one likes the F-35. It was supposed to be the bargain bin F-22 and replace the bomber role as well.
In reality, the F-35 is like a buying Wal-Mart caliber steak for $100/lb."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

It definitely is a better value than the F-35 lmao.
An F/A 18 Super Hornet is $60.9 million per unit.
The Airforce F-35A costs $148 million each
USMC F-35B costs $251 million each
The Navy F-35C is $337 million
Average is $178 million per plane between all the different variants.
And they're problematic as hell.I wish Hillary would violate me like she violated federal law

I was talking about from a strictly performance stand point. All that is needed is electrical and internal upgrades which is cheap. That is why the a10 and apache are still top tier in their class. Same air frame, engine, etc just upgraded electronics and communications systems. Same thing could be done with the f-18 and it would probably serve the air force for the next 20 years.

Yeah, but it can't take off vertically while shooting lasers and jamming radar or some **** like that.
If I remember correctly, the Super Hornet actually outmaneuvers the F-35.
IMO, if we were ever in a war where we needed the F-35 for some huge edge over the Chinese or whoever, it's not going to end well regardless. Whose to say the chinese won't shoot down one of the satellites or exploit the technology that the F-35 is so reliant on.
I think the Chinese actually hacked and stole a lot of info from the F-35 program a while back.I wish Hillary would violate me like she violated federal law
