I've been told that it can break down collagen if you sleep on one side, so I'm trying to get used to sleeping on my back. What about you ladies?

I don't know about the collagen thing, but my right shoulder does have off days because I sleep on that side, and my mattress is chit. Mostly it's the mattress, bad support will screw you no matter how you sleep. Plenty of people are side sleepers though, and are just fine.

I have never heard of that about collagen.
I sleep on my side. Before I lost weight, I slept on my back quite a bit because I had to wear a CPAP mask and when I turned on my side I'd get a gap between my skin and mask, which would make air start hissing out. I do not miss those days. But anyway, I sleep on my side now.
I remember when I was pregnant and it seemed like the doctor's answer for every ache and pain was "drink a glass of water and lie on your left side."

Probably false. Collagen breakdown is just a normal part of the aging process. So is the loss of hyaluronic acid in our faces.
I do try to sleep on my back though, because if I sleep on my side I will wake in the morning with those sleepy wrinkles on my face. Sleeping on my back keeps my skincare products on my skin and not on my pillowcase, and if I'm just ever so elevated, I awake less puffy too.
But, try as I may, I flop around from one side to the other. No drama: You know where we are.
