Unfortunately there are others.
Citizens who want the government to be in control and be responsible, because the citizens don't want responsibility.
Citizens who are criminals and don't want to be shot while committing crimes.
Citizens with violent tempers who are prone to getting mad and turning violent, think or know they would be dangerous if they had a gun because they would lose their temper and do something they shouldn't with it, who project that onto other people and are confident others would do the same.
So some of them simply cannot be won over with the "it's a check vs tyrannical government" because they actually kind of want that (like most CA residents), and some cannot be won over because they know themselves and know others having guns is dangerous to them (makes crime/attacking others more risky)

Some citizens believe the gun grabbing politicians who front that their draconian infringements on the 2nd are for the safety and protection of the people. I'm sure those scumbags are sitting around howling with laughter at the dumb sheep pushing their lies.

Any of you all ran any optic with magnification on your AR with a FSB? I was about to order that Strike Eagle but just thought about if the fsb would interfere with the picture through the optic. Vortex claims to have a true 1x and if that's the case that shouldn't be an issue, not sure on higher magnification how it will do.

Get the 12x. I have the 10x and it is a fine optic, served me well for capping prairie dogs out to about 600m, beyond that and I cannot see them with only 10x. The 16x optic is not as clear and distortion free as the 10 and 12x that SWFA make. Split the difference and get the better optical clarity of the 12x especially if you will only ever go out to 300m.

How much you looking to spend? Looking to build your own or buy a complete AR? I'm an admitted Aero fanboy but this upper/handguard combo is pretty goat-y, lots of material around where the barrel mates with the upper receiver=strength in a traditionally weak part of the gun:
Builders kit (lower/upper/handguard) for $350 then you can choose a barrel/bolt carrier group/trigger/stock/grip:

Great wylde chambered barrel (eats .223 and 5.56) with gas block included for $200:

Or complete rifle with it at $979:

I really like 12x for my purposes. I would like the option for 18x if I had something with more range than .223.
