GUNTER was awesome for that short period in 2002, but he squandered all of the hype and never brought the same quality package. I think that by '06 he was pretty much finished.

I'd say Paul's structure was better (incredibly wide shoulders, tiny waist and round muscle bellies) but Ronnie packed more freaky muscle for his frame.

He had bad shoulders, I think it affected his training somehow, and for whatever reason his delts overpowered everything else in the bdb.

His back was actually quite thick if you check out a standing relaxed shot.

I think Paul's neck/head shape actually made him look slight thinner than he was. I would give it to Paul for sheer freakishness, even though he didn't have the weight I don't think.

He had "Okay lat spreads" without ever spreading his lats. Dude just put his fists on his hips. The central back thickness and insertions on Dillett's back were just crazy. If he ever learned how to flex his back muscles (in training as well as on stage), his back would have developed into a real contendor IMO. It had all the gifts the rest of his body did.

Dorian himself said he watched Paul train back with Charles Glass (the most famous 90's trainer) and he used every muscle to heave the weight about, apart from his lats.

Dillet's back was absolute trash compared to coleman. No one can say Dillet was bigger overall. Even OP posted straight front shots for comparison.

This is hard to explain but when you look at the pics you can see what i am saying. Ronnie looks so big and so developed all over, that he looks as if he is too big for his frame/height. The other guys look developed and huge, but Ronnie looks stuffed, or almost like an experiment that worked too well. Hard to explain but you can see it. Lets just say these guys all are responders, but Ronnies genetics made him a hyper responder.

At his best, Dillett also had some of the best legs... very complete. He is mulatto as well so he didn't get the dreaded 'black man calves' curse

All these guys weighted at stage about 300lbs

Ronnie Coleman weighted maybe 280-290lbs heaviest on stage, but was shorter than previous guys and was really shredded, thats pretty amazing, especially when Coleman had so good balance and flow on his physique also
