Stopped watching after the 3rd episode of this season. Watched the end of the midseason finale after hearing Carl died. Didn't watch Carl's sendoff episode last week because his character sucks on the show.
I caught the second half of last night's episode to see if it was still terrible. It is. Rick fired off at least 10 rounds, one-handed with the Python with absolutely ZERO recoil and zero reloading.
I had to LOL when the Garbage Pail Kids were immediately slaughtered after surrendering their weapons. Much more effective pro-2A argument than any gun-grabbing speech at the Oscars. I also found it funny that aside from the fact they were disarmed the other reason they were all killed is because the leader insisted on continuing to talk like an idiot.
The introduction of the trash people was the beginning of the end of the show. Too bad killing them all off won't be enough to revive it.

Don't even watch this show anymore, but I randomly watched like 30 min of tonights episode. The villain that works under negan (forget his name), seems like he actually has a pretty cool role. I never understood why someone in his position wouldn't just kill Negan. The whole community runs on fear anyway, so you think if they fear negan they would fear the guy that killed him lmao

I haven't watched this garbage since season two and hershels unlimited shotgun ammo cheat, but i heard that little **** died. It's about time. They should have threw him off a bridge a long time ago. He's inadvertently got so many people killed.

Am I the only one who still enjoys the show? It's not top quality TV anymore, but I have a theory that is completely different than any other as to why it's not as captivating...
1. Binge watching is the new thing, and this show lends itself to a binge. Just look at the writing for the newer seasons. It's written for a binge. "This half of the season all happened in 2 days!" Well that's great writers, but maybe release it all at once as a marathon if that's the case? That'd be unprecedented. Make it an entire weekend thing, air all 8 episodes back to back. Then replay them the following weeks in order. That would be record breaking ratings right there. If you're gonna make the show geared towards a binge watch, it isn't gonna be nearly as effective when you have to wait week-to-week.
2. The commercials ruin the immersion of horror. This goes for any show, really. Imagine watching Game of Thrones or Westworld with commercial breaks? It'd be awful. Walking Dead is pretty much the only show I catch live on TV (and go to friends houses to watch the HBO stuff) and commercials in general make me wince. They're so terrible.
3. This is the biggest one, and I never see anyone mention it. The location is fuking boring. Not the fact they're in one spot for an entire season. (The quarry, the farm, the prison, the road, Alexandria, Hilltop, Kingdom.) But the fact that every spot looks the same. I feel like they've filmed the entire show in the same square mile. It all looks the same, it all has the same vibe. Even a season with snow would completely change the tone for a bit. (They had snow in the comics.) They should have moved the filming location out of Georgia to coincide with the point in which the characters themselves left Georgia. The only time I don't feel like they're stuck in this little box of repetition was scenes in Atlanta. (And I miss the urban settings, too.)

Poor Coral died a virgin and never got some to feel them DSL's
Shane was great, watching him and Rick clash were some of my favorite scenes in the show. I wouldn't call your best friend turning Judas a weak foe at all.
But one thing the show has been hit or miss on: referencing old storylines. Like you'd think in this setting where you have alot of free time, there'd be more reflection interlaced with actual footage. I'm surprised they didn't show any flashbacks with Coral's death. Instead they always do these long monologues with the actor staring into space.Last edited by CaliSuperSport; 03-05-2018 at 04:17 PM.

There was way too much fukin filler in this show over the last 2 seasons and the whole thing has gotten stale. IMO it's already jumped the shark for a number of reasons:
-threats like the walkers have been diminished with the extra focus on Negan.
-extremely poor fight choreography (dat dere infinite ammo cheat)
-Too much telling, not showing, with character back stories
-some bad acting, from key characters no less
-obscene plot armor
I don't get that rush or heart pounding emotion from the show anymore, I'm just kinda waiting for it to deliver again at this point. I used to be on the edge of my seat all the way through Season 6 and part of 7.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

Serious, to play it out like Glenn actually died was a bad move.
I'm getting cheesy NBC drama show vibes from this show at times. Rick, Carol, and a few others have given questionable performances. Also Coral's death was directed very badly. Between splicing it with irrelevant scenes, having him monologue so much, and no flashback scenes. They could have done way better.
I'm under the impression that key show runners have been replaced since 2010, and it's showing.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω
