Not killing Carl can make sense from the perspective of helping keep Rick under control, but what about his own people? A kid greased at least two of them and received ZERO consequences. Inconsistency and devaluing those you lead is a quick way to get overthrown. Why should they risk their lives for Negan when some ******* kid can murder them without issue?

This is a great point. Agree with everyone that the backstories are annoying AF but I hope one is coming for Negan.

I also liked the one on the Governor so hopefully one on Negan would live up to that.

Also find this whole Negan character and the Saviours unrealistic based on the world the story is currently set in. There HAD to have been someone so pissed off previous to the introduction with Rick and their group that someone would have attempted to take him out like Rosita did. The fact he still alive is pretty ridiculous. I mean, what is stopping anyone from his current group like Dwight whose wife is getting banged by Negan and face burnt to chit just walking up to him from behind his back and shooting him straight to the head? Maybe Dwight doesn't have the balls, but there had to have been someone somewhere where Negan has crossed that would have already killed him by now. A person with that many enemies wouldn't survive in that world.

Hopefully the rest of season 8 concludes with Negan and Saviours being killed off and they move onto better storylines.

Yeah but Dictators have a gazillion security surrounding them at all times, they never mingle with the "common folk". Whereas Whereas Negan is constantly within the vicinity of his enemies all the time whether that's at a settlement he's subjugating (Alexandria/hilltop/kingdom etc) or even at home in their industrial factory place where he will have many people who hate him too. So it's easy for anyone to get to him, he would have gotten whacked at some point, no question about it.

I'm personally hoping that Steven Og follows Dwight's storyline from the comic. I'm not really familiar with the whole storyline, but the general direction the character takes I would like it. I'd much rather Dwight on the show just die. Daryl deserves to kill him and Steven Og would be a much cooler character/actor to have on the show in the long run.

It wouldn't really make any sense though. Ogg's character is completely content and happy with his position. He's 100% loyal to Negan. If he were to be the one to betray him, they would have needed to show some discontentment already. Dwight will definitely keep his comic story line. Personally, I'd prefer to Dwight to be killed off, and have Daryl take Dwight's comic book storyline. It would be pretty fitting since Dwight in the comics is literally based on Daryl.

I guess this should seem obvious by now, but the first three or four episodes after the break are confirmed to be an "original" story. Based on the book/binocular guy. I guess we could have expected that, because if they were following the comics accurately, Rick should have already met Ezekiel, and the end of last night should have been the 2nd lineup. Anyways, a show only group is coming in for the start of the second half, and will occupy the beginning episodes. Not to say the comic story won't progress somewhat, but this original group will be the main focus to start.

Carol: Obviously they're shaping this into a "I can't kill anymore" and then she will end up joining the fight in heroic fashion. Maybe even dying in the process. Her outspoken pacifist attitude is obviously present in the show for a bigger reason down the road.

Negan: They haven't really gotten into much detail about it, but some of this was covered. The amazon women in the jungle tried fighting Negan. He killed all their men and boys 10 and up. Additionally, within his group I think he keeps enough people happy and enough other people in fear that if/when a random person decides to conspire against him they would likely get ratted out by another member of the group who is trying to get into Negan's good graces.

Yeah, I don't see it happening sadly. I really like Ogg as an actor and would have liked to see it, but Dwight is the only realistic one to do it... which is unfortunate, because I'm not overly impressed with the actor who plays Dwight (mostly because of how poorly he handles guns in the show though. lol).

I'm looking forward to something new and unknown. I'm not 100% familiar with everything comic book, but something nobody knows about will be nice. I'm hoping this new threat creates some havoc and Negan and the Saviors end up just destroying them. Would give some credence to the Saviors "protecting" people, and kind of show off their strength before Rick and Co. have their inevitable fight with the Saviors.

Spoiling Dead is 95% certain the creeper is a member of the Garbage Pail Kids (an original to the show group - I don't think that is their real name, just a fan name based on set photos or something).

I didn't read enough to see if they are minor villains like the Wolves, a neutral party that will extend into the future of the show, or some combination that will eventually ally with Rick and Co against the Saviors (will be interesting to learn of any previous experiences they've had themselves).

My take is that they will end up being cannon fodder. The show has gone out of its way to show the Saviors number in the hundreds. In order to have Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom "realistically" compete with them while not losing too many main cast members, they're going to need a lot more disposable group members. As fun as it would be, people wouldn't buy Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Carol, and Jesus forming Voltron and steamrolling Negan and his scrubs.

Just the name of them (although it isn't anything official) makes me wonder if they'll be the castoffs from the amazon women. They said all the boys 10 and up were killed. Maybe they got some away to safety to live on their own and they'll be the nexus between Alexandria and the amazon women.

I'm still just hoping they're a bad group, they threaten Alexandria and Negan wrecks them.
