Although I love the actor I just can't get behind the character... he's just too ridiculous. Honestly, I think he needs to tone it down a bit because the acting is starting to reach William Shatner levels of cringe at times.

They really need to show a back story for Negan. I found the Terminus people and the Gov. far more compelling because you saw what they went through and could ALMOST rationalize the fukked up things that they did.

I had a half-baked idea for a Negan-centric back story episode. You could even tie in a character from the spinoff FTWD show or one of the miniseries characters. I dunno what Negan used to be in the comics, but I always pictured him as an alcoholic car salesman in his past, that went into a downward spiral.

Anyone know if Negan has a back story in the comics?

It's a very accurate portrayal of the way the character is in the comics, but is definitely something that doesn't translate well to live action. He comes across as too much of a ham with his constant mugging and chewing up the scenery. Reminds me of Diamondback's portrayal in Luke Cage.

They had a similar problem with the Governor. In the comics he is purely an over-the-top comic book villain. They changed the character a lot for TV with mixed results.

Also, for the bro above I think in the comics Negan was a PE teacher or car salesman. I had stopped reading by the time that was revealed.

This...hate how AMC builds up a good episode, only to go back to shiet...if they're going to go back to Maggie, they can at least speed it up and have some interedasting siht go on in this episode. Have her gut that ******* hilltop leader in front of everyone, or start an internal rebellion, or anything other than random side convos with people we give 0 fuks about

They're really hammering home in the most "we think the audience is too stupid to pick up on subtlety" way that Gregory is an alcoholic, unfit leader (der, he can't even remember the names of people who have been in the community for a long time).

Aside from insulting the audience, the problem with that is it makes it unbelievable that he was ever chosen to lead in the first place and that he hasn't been ousted already.

Also, this Carl/Enid **** is so stupid. I hope one of them gets eaten.
